I’d want a URL mapping extension that lets me freely configure my own mappings from URL pattern to replacement pattern (i.e. like regular-expression search & replace).

Super Agent making browsing easy again by getting rid of all those annoying pop-ups and actually applying preferences instead of breaking the websites by blocking content.

WHYYY is Google AMP still a thing?! Non-AMP websites load plenty fast on my iPhone. The problem is rather that websites are just crappy - which Google AMP makes worse. The ‘mobile’ differentiation is also completely silly: so an iPad Mini doesn’t have AMP but an iPhone Max does?

Please, Google, allow us to disable it. Or even better: ditch it.

Does anyone know if the Mac has an extension like noir? I'm using dark mode for safari extension currently but it inverts the colours and just looks a lot worse than how Noir does it.

Can you explain what a standalone vault is?
Basically the file containing all the passwords that 1Password uses. Standalone means that file is stored locally, but can be synced through iCloud/Dropbox/etc (or even via WiFi if you don't want to use any cloud service). This is in contrast to their new format, which is synced through 1Password's servers, and requires a subscription.

Any reviews on StopTheMadness? Just wanting to see if it’s really worth the money. I have no qualms paying for a good utility. Just want to make sure it’s good.

iOS StopTheMadness is pretty much the same as the macOS version which means it'll just make your life easier unobtrusively. I kind of forget I have it until I start using someone else's computer and immediately get annoyed at some of the ******** websites pull off all the time these days.

Besides, it's made by the Apple developer community's favorite grumpy uncle Jeff Johnson. Guy deserves a break and really tries to make the thing as good as it can be.

Me looking at the list and wondering why they are showing 15 extensions then totally forgetting iOS 15, not 15 extensions.

Mac user since 1990
never saw this:
"To protect your privacy and security, this extension was not turned on. After quitting the app or service, you can try to turn on this extensions...... who cares"
huh?

ad block plus- safari 16- Calatalina-MacBook Air

editL I used the green ad block and that worked!

Woot! Thanks Juli, blows my mind for three of my apps to make the list. Hope everyone likes Amplosion, it was a lot of fun to build and really nice to finally have. It's open source too if anyone wants to take a peak behind the curtains of what it does, Safari extensions can request quite a bit of permissions so I wanted to be pretty forthcoming with everything.

The world would be a better place if all developers strived to be more like you dude. <3

Dark Reader is pretty great. Available for almost all mainstream browsers (not sure about Microsoft Edge though). Gives you some options as to how to invert colors as well, though these are a tad more limited on Safari I believe.

1Password is The Gold Standard for generating encrypted passwords. It's easy to use and Robust with a capital R. It's worth every penny.

If you have more than one family member using a computer, iPad, iPhone, whatever, I highly recommend the Family Plan.

No, I do not work for 1Password, get even one penny of compensation or any freebies; I just believe in it after using it since it started years ago, Oh, their support staff is second to none.

Wholeheartedly agree. Used it forever.

Should also be pointed out that those of us who previously paid for 1Password, and are still using stand alone vaults with no subscription, can not only NOT use the new extension, but they took away the existing share sheet with no warning.
But they integrated it into the iOS password system, so you don’t need a share sheet to use it. I haven’t used the share sheet since.

It sucks to lose out on the new features, but you’re also not paying for them. It’s too bad you can’t pay a one-time fee.

I actually just signed up for the subscription service a month ago after milking the standalone vault for as long as I could. I wanted to be able to selectively share vaults with my wife (it was starting to drive me crazy because she wouldn’t take the time to store common passwords herself and kept bugging me for passwords so worth the cost to me for that alone, lol) and even share a few things with my kids now that they’re old enough to responsibly use iPads. I had a promo code so it was half off $30 for the first year which isn’t a bad price. It’s cool how you can basically system admin all the vaults and users.

I like it more than I thought I would. I think the $30/yr is a fair price so I hope I can keep finding promo codes but it comes out to $5/mo without it. That isn’t bad but can add up with all the other subscriptions from modern life. It’s also nice to finally have the dark mode in the Mac app now.

The most annoying part is I set a more secure password now that it’s outside of iCloud. Previously I used a fairly secure but shorter password since you’d theoretically have to crack my iCloud and then this password before you could get in. I work mostly on my desktop during the day which is secure in my home studio so I’ve set a long timeout now and it’s not so bad.

Maybe I am mixing users, but I thought they did pay a one-time fee, but the greedy developer decided to move to a subscription model abandoning their existing customers who didn't agree to pay even more for the product they already paid for. It was pay once get free updates forever. Now it's paid monthly get occasional updates.

It wasn't even that, it was (on desktop at least) pay for every major new version. And I would happily keep doing that, because then at least I could keep using the old version forever, or upgrade when I felt like it. But no way am I paying monthly to "upgrade" to their new Electron based app.

Noir ($2.99) - If you have Dark Mode turned on and visit a website that does not support it, Noir will automatically turn it dark so that you're not blinded by a sudden bright webpage with Dark Mode enabled. Noir only activates when a website does not have a Dark Mode option, and you can choose to turn Dark Mode on or off on a site by site basis.
Wow. I really like to have this on my Mac.

Is there any difference between having 1Blocker, Hush and/or Super Agent, for blocking the Cookie popups? Or am I covered with just 1Blocker?
