Basically the file containing all the passwords that 1Password uses. Standalone means that file is stored locally, but can be synced through iCloud/Dropbox/etc (or even via WiFi if you don't want to use any cloud service). This is in contrast to their new format, which is synced through 1Password's servers, and requires a subscription. Can you explain what a standalone vault is?
1Password has managed to surpass Fantastical in the debacle on purpose department.Should also be pointed out that those of us who previously paid for 1Password, and are still using stand alone vaults with no subscription, can not only NOT use the new extension, but they took away the existing share sheet with no warning.
It's honestly impressive. Or whatever the bad version of impressive is.1Password has managed to surpass Fantastical in the debacle on purpose department.
The world would be a better place if all developers strived to be more like you dude. <3Woot! Thanks Juli, blows my mind for three of my apps to make the list. Hope everyone likes Amplosion, it was a lot of fun to build and really nice to finally have. It's open source too if anyone wants to take a peak behind the curtains of what it does, Safari extensions can request quite a bit of permissions so I wanted to be pretty forthcoming with everything.
Dark Reader is pretty great. Available for almost all mainstream browsers (not sure about Microsoft Edge though). Gives you some options as to how to invert colors as well, though these are a tad more limited on Safari I believe.Does anyone know if the Mac has an extension like noir? I'm using dark mode for safari extension currently but it inverts the colours and just looks a lot worse than how Noir does it.
My job's really easy, you folks ask me to build cool stuff and I just do thatThe world would be a better place if all developers strived to be more like you dude. <3
1Password is The Gold Standard for generating encrypted passwords. It's easy to use and Robust with a capital R. It's worth every penny.
If you have more than one family member using a computer, iPad, iPhone, whatever, I highly recommend the Family Plan.
No, I do not work for 1Password, get even one penny of compensation or any freebies; I just believe in it after using it since it started years ago, Oh, their support staff is second to none.
But they integrated it into the iOS password system, so you don’t need a share sheet to use it. I haven’t used the share sheet since.Should also be pointed out that those of us who previously paid for 1Password, and are still using stand alone vaults with no subscription, can not only NOT use the new extension, but they took away the existing share sheet with no warning.
Maybe I am mixing users, but I thought they did pay a one-time fee, but the greedy developer decided to move to a subscription model abandoning their existing customers who didn't agree to pay even more for the product they already paid for. It was pay once get free updates forever. Now it's paid monthly get occasional updates. It’s too bad you can’t pay a one-time fee.
It wasn't even that, it was (on desktop at least) pay for every major new version. And I would happily keep doing that, because then at least I could keep using the old version forever, or upgrade when I felt like it. But no way am I paying monthly to "upgrade" to their new Electron based app.Maybe I am mixing users, but I thought they did pay a one-time fee, but the greedy developer decided to move to a subscription model abandoning their existing customers who didn't agree to pay even more for the product they already paid for. Wow. I really like to have this on my Mac.Noir ($2.99) - If you have Dark Mode turned on and visit a website that does not support it, Noir will automatically turn it dark so that you're not blinded by a sudden bright webpage with Dark Mode enabled. Noir only activates when a website does not have a Dark Mode option, and you can choose to turn Dark Mode on or off on a site by site basis.
What did Fantastical do that was a debacle? I don’t use it, but I know people who love it. I must have missed this story…1Password has managed to surpass Fantastical in the debacle on purpose department.
