So I just plugged my iPhone 13 Pro Max into my computer and it told me to update but I already had 16.0. Wss there something else that was fixed.

Anyone have this

I just plugged in my 13pro max and got notified to do an update.and I click yes on my Mac. It still says 16.0 on my iPhone tho.

Lol I think I’d know if I had a 14 or not.

So did they throw this to everyone now?

Seems very unpolished on 14 Pro Max. Transferring a SIM fails, waking the display with AOD off has a strange animation, Apple Watch failed to progress past pairing on the first try. Wonder if 16.1b1 is any good

Took it out of the box, restored to 16.0.1 and haven't had any issues so far.
Yep it picks up 16.0.1 almost immediately, and my watch got paired before the phone had finished preparing the update. About 30 minutes total including pairing watch. My first call out however gave me a message stating that my other line was no longer available and did I want to use my remaining line, I tapped that and the call was placed without issue. I assume it’s to do with the no sim/esim feature, I’ve never had 2 lines.

Had some issues transferring my number from the old phone (Spectrum decided to do a major system update on iPhone launch day - genius) but was otherwise a very smooth experience. It’s nice not having to restore from backup these days; the data transfer is so much faster/easier.

I am stuck in the FaceTime & iMessage bug. WIL NOT ACTIVATE
Posted about this already. Apple Support engineers are looking into it.
Avid Apple user but no idea.

Release notes are different for Australia, first point is actually
  • iMessage and FaceTime may not complete activation

I was able to update my new iPhone 14 Pro Max to 16.0.1 in Finder before trying to set it up. Restoring from a backup was fine, but my number wouldn’t port from my old iPhone’s Sim Card to the new eSim, and I spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T trying to sort it out. Now that my number’s working, I’m STILL waiting for my Music App’s library to finish syncing and for the Messages app to finish reconciling everything. I’m not complaining, I remember when setting up a new phone (and watch) would take all weekend. But this has still been longer than it should have been… considering I’m still waiting for things to finish up. And I am plugged in to power and connected to WiFi.

That’s why I stopped using iTunes/Finder ages ago. Transferring directly from the old phone to the new one was seamless. Got my watch paired, phone updated to 16.0.1, and Apple Pay credit cards added, all in just over 30 minutes. Almost all apps were ready to go about 20 minutes later. And everything was set up exactly as it was on the old phone. There were only a couple of apps that I had to log into, the rest recognized me.

Turns out that the 13 I’m replacing never had a sim anyway. I found out this morning when I was getting it ready to ship out. Popped the sim tray out to dispose of the sim which I’ve always done before trading or selling and no sim. So I guess the esim really wasn’t the issue I thought it might be. They really do have this down to a science.

I tried a phone to phone transfer initially, and I made sure I had no issues with Wi-Fi, and the Bluetooth was on, but it still said I had over three hours to transfer. I gave up after that failed twice and went with the restore from backup.
My phone was delivered yesterday around 1 PM, and here I am a day later still waiting for my music library to finish syncing and for all of my photos to finish downloading. And it’s not my Internet, everything here is fast.

The weather app won’t let me delete Cupertino and New York from the list of locations. It often crashes when I attempt to delete one of them, and even when I’m able to get rid of them, they reappear whenever I open the app again. Restart didn’t fix it.

I’m stuck in the same boat. Incredibly frustrating process to transfer to a new iPhone. Failed multiple times and it didn’t help I was inpatient and took out my SIM card from my old iPhone to my new 14 pro and because I lost Wi-Fi, couldn’t receive authentication codes etc etc.
everything’s up and running but no iMessage or FaceTime on my phone number. I’ve tried resetting, turning off and on again - this is also incredibly frustrating to be told by an apple support member to do all this again.

I'm trying another restore again this morning on my 14 Pro Max. My Apple Music Library isn't syncing over. But, considering the mess I went thru with AT&T to get my SIM ported over to eSIM, I'll feel better knowing I'm setting it up with no prior issues or anything.
