Airdrop is not working through contacts you have to choose other and then whatever the persons phone is named ..seems like everything else is working so far

Same. I also can't receive any airdrops from my GF's phone on 16.0, either having her select me from contacts or using the Airdrop button and selecting my phone.

If you sit a wait a minute whatever your GF named her phone it will show up under OTHER then you can send ..but its a no go for contacts…

Just drove 10 miles out of my way, relying on my iPhone 14 Pro Max’s Map via CarPlay to lead the way. Was driving with family in the car, paying attention to the road and talking and stuff. Looked at my screen and realized it just wasn’t updating at all. Pulled over and realized we were WAY off course and now late for our dinner reservation. It seemed fine on the way home, though.

I’m also still waiting for my Apple Music library to finish syncing. This is one of the worst iPhone launches I’ve experienced in a long time, if ever. And that’s including odd restores that took days and all the other oddball issues that have come up since I’ve owned the first iPhone. Maybe we all just get used to things working out of the box.

This particular release seems really plagued by issues… really hoping for an iOS 16.0.2 to resolve a lot of this.

After three restores and setting up as new, my iPhone 14PM is still unable to finish syncing my Music Library. Hopefully we're not waiting for a polished 16.1 release....

Didn’t work for me I did the mandatory 3 hard restarts per Craig.. still is under others not from contact list.. Thank you for the tip…
Try going into the contact and changing their number or email tag to “iPhone” or iCloud.” .. I remember someone saying that solved airdrop issues for them a while ago

1) Music Library STILL not updating on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I can add an Album to my Music Library and it shows up very quickly on my iPad and my other Mac along with my wife's iPhone 12 Pro... I've seen this at the top for days now, and when the progress bar DOES start to move, it gets about ⅕ of the way, disappears, then starts again.

2) I'm also finding that NONE of my apps are showing me the red badge number. I opened Spark and had close to 50 new emails, but had no idea because no red badge. Checked the Apple Mail app and there was no red badge there, either. Nothing for Messages.

3) Yesterday I drove pretty far out of my way because the Apple Maps app wasn't updating. Very frustrating with Family in the car, driving on the highway.. Ended up being late for a dinner reservation.

I've tried setting up as new and I've restored from a backup. doesn't make any difference. This is probably the worst Apple Product launch I've been a part of going all the way back to getting my first Mac Pro over 15 years ago.

Have you installed the newest beta? I’ve seen several reports of this navigation issue with it on the new 14s. Because of that I went on a short journey to check my 14 Pro Max and had no issues at all. But I’m only on 16.0.1.

The only hiccup I experienced was having to have 16.0.1 installed during the activation of the phone. But that gave my Apple Watch time to pair itself to the phone while unpairing from my old phone. All went smoothly with little required of me and took just over 30 minutes. So far the only noticeable issue is that when restarting the phone I get the password request for the AppleID that is used for media and app purchases. Otherwise this has been as smooth as could be.

No, I'm on 16.0.1, and I installed that via Finder before even trying to set it up. I've tried restoring from a backup and setting my phone up as new. No change. In fact, my GPS now shows I live across and down the street.

Sorry that really is frustrating. I do everything OTA and haven’t had any issues.

I’m just now finding that, even though Settings reflects that all of my Safari Extensions are there & enabled, I’m having to enable for EVERY SITE I visit, even when I select the option to use them on all sites.

There is definitely an issue but it’s odd. From my 14 Pro Max on 16.0.1 using Airdrop the phone sees my wife’s 12 on iOS 16. But when tapping the icon it says waiting but nothing appears on my wife’s phone so it can never complete. But it does appear on her iPad Pro on 15.7 and will open up on it.

Trying to Airdrop from her phone, it doesn’t see my 14 but does see my iPad Pro on 16.1. My iPad does see my 14 and Airdrop completes properly. I think having all these different OSes out on different devices is not helping. I wouldn’t be doing anything drastic to deal with this. It really seems to be software related, which software is impossible to know at this point, but should be corrected in an update. I’m assuming once 16.1 arrives for every device.

Anyone have an issue when you open the Messages app, the messages list kinda stutters a little bit right away? I've force quit the app and did a hard restart, still having the issue. I assume it's an issue with this iOS release.

Regarding the annoying prompt to confirm Copy/Paste on iOS & iPadOS, it is MUCH MORE ANNOYING to see the "Pasting from ..." pop up on my iPad, MBP, & Mac mini, and then find that I have to WAIT until the 'pasting' has finished before I can actually type something, let alone PASTE what I was wanting to in the first place. I'm seeing a lag of roughly 8-10 seconds before I can continue... 🤦‍♂️

I see this icon in place of an icon for my iPhone 14 Pro Max:
IMG_0010.jpeg
this is anywhere the phone would be referenced in Settings like under iCloud Settings...

I'd REALLY love to love my iPhone, but the laundry list of issues has just put me off
-- GPS Issue (impacting me on 16.0.1, not on 16.1)
-- Music Library Not Completing Sync, then starting over
-- Badge Notification icons seem to just not work for some apps, but not all??
-- SIM card to eSim Transfer failed & had to spend an hour on the phone with AT&T
-- I'm not having the reported camera issue, but I also don't use those 3rd Party Apps
-- Photos App not updating Faces

Besides 'AntennaGate', this is probably the roughest iPhone launch I've experienced. And to see all of the MANY pages of people posting their similar issues, it's just mind boggling that NONE of this was caught, even by the folks with Review Units. Unless some kind of NDA prevented them from telling us all of the problems coming our way. I almost feel cheated lol

I'm going to try one more Erase & Restore to see if ANY of my issues can be fixed. But I doubt it.

Are you on 16.0.1 or 16.1 beta? I actually had to downgrade from 16.1 beta to resolve this issue on my 14PM. Wouldn't update for very long periods of time but seemed to want to update when I was slowing down and then came to a stop at a light.

Speculation is that 16.1 broke something on how the phone chooses and locks satellites between the 2 bands that the 14 Pro's can use.

I'm still on iOS 16.0.1
