"The Cloud" meaning "Someone Else's Hard Drive." I hope you never have the privilege of experiencing a data loss due to sync error or service failure. You'll change your mind real quick.

I’m sure I would not be happy. But I also know that paid providers have many more backup and redundancy capabilities than I can ever have, which is a huge mitigating factor.

Hmmm….I’m guessing the GPS bug has finally kicked in…

Good thing I’m in a cab…

This looks like exactly what I experienced during the early iOS 13 betas. Very frustrating. But will be fixed for sure before release.

Hoping the beta I'm downloading as we speak fixes it. I'm actually driving around in NJ later this week and while I grew up there, I'm getting forgetful in my old age...😂

Always a set price between airports and certain zones, so I always know the price…at least coming in from NJ.

$65 + $5.50 credit card fee…another $20 in told….tip….ouch

…and I know where I’m going…so…

Ah, I thought that looked familiar. EWR!

Worst airport on the planet.

I use a 12.9 iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and can confirm that it does not work with this beta 2. Also the Dock does not come up with the Magic Keyboard’s trackpad (Swipe Down at Bottom) most of the time. This beta is a mess when coupled with the Magic Keyboard.
I have move back to beta 1 for the above reasons.

It’s fixed with the new beta, finally

That's how the pro audio community works unfortunately: If it ain't broke, don't touch it. Recording studios are full of old Macs. Mojave might be the best audio workstation OS ever released.

I wish I could get a new machine. I already spent my upgrade budget on a base-model M1 MBA for school when Apple broke iCloud Sync on my 2011 MBP by conveniently forgetting to push an updated certificate, even though they clearly state iCloud still works on High Sierra.

“Sounds” like a right whooo haa. Glad I’m in design 😜😆

Since the new beta didn't release today, some things I haven't seen posted in the 18 pages:
  1. Backup to Mac requires a pin code on the phone/ipad to start the backup. Weird bug.
  2. The accept to each and every paste bug is back.
For those complaining about bugs coming back (like #2), often in modern software development, people will fork off a version and work on multiple forks simultaneously, like let's say 16.0 beta 8/RC and 16.0.1. This looks like it was forked off around beta 6 or 7. Hence, some bugs are back. I'm betting they're merging updates from the later 16.0 betas back into this release train (16.1) and through the beta cycle you'll see the cleanup of 16.0 and the fix of 16.0.1 merge into this in one of the upcoming betas.

This is normal beta stuff.

It’s out bro.

Just installed iOS 16.1 Public Beta 2 -- The GPS appears to be working now. I just tried it with a walk but will report after I go for a drive. The other fix was the camera indicator would come on when ads played in the game X2 Blocks. The light didn't go off until the iPhone was locked.

16.1 b2 just flying in
And it fixed my issues

Which even though being sarcastic saying were on ‘most’ examples of iOS 16.1, and being smacked because I don’t have specific numbers or a statistical example poling a few thousand beta testers….
To that dweeb, I didn’t quote you because there’s no need to bring more attention to such a ridiculous comment, and complete lack of understanding sarcasm

That said and as I said, I have three models of iPhones; 11 Pro 12/13PMs and ALL were having the same issues swiping folders and home screens. The constant affirmation to paste and numerous other REAL Issues that affected The Real World and - ended up sending more folks who gave beta a shot early… running to reinstall a stable public release, rather than wait a week.

I stand by my statement and my sarcasm though and I’d bet you a week’s salary I’m right on the money.

Seems the only ones who didn’t have these problems were those who got the new iPhone 14/14Ps but the latter’s GPSs were goofed up

And yes. These issues have been addressed now working a treat.

That’s with the latest update 10.1.2 - GPS, swiping and copy/paste all work properly and battery seems amazing on my iPhone 12 and 13 pro max. Wife rarely uses her 11P so it’s hard to say.

If you still have the unable to update error dump your beta build under settings and VPN area. Just delete it. Turn phone off. Reenroll your device and then retry. It’ll be gone and you can update to the latest version of the beta 16.1.2

I’m also using three iPads; g3 12.9”/1TB, g5 12.9 (M1) w/1TB and a 256GB iPad Air g6 all w/cellula. When I found the new update to have fixed the issues; I and so many others (to same dude, who is using the beta builds not using MacRumors? Seriously? My wife waits weeks or months sometimes to update as do my folks, 3 younger brothers and their wives and kids) were experiencing, I updated the lot of them today and all are fine.

Sorry to persist buddy, but only us geeks who frequent this site are testing beta builds these days. It’s thee Apple forum. And I have been playing with betas for a decade plus now. I don’t recall a .1 release with such ugly and apparent flaws in the general UI and day to day usability.

Most apps seemed fine, for me, but the ones it broke - it broke. And they weren’t fixed until this latest point release update

I’m not saying it’s time but it’s a heck of a lot more stable on 16.1.2, it’s fixed GPS issues on pro models of the 14’s (I wasn’t aware of one on the standard version of the 14) and the battery life seems to be good to excellent. No more copy and paste between app permissions, it’s running slick.

Tl/dr. iOS 16.1 was the nastiest beta release Apple has dropped in years. A complete disaster for MOST beta testers. ;)

This is a new reporting and deleting junk design. I like it better than the previous one.
i'm on 16.03 and there is NO Cancel options or means to flag the process of comparing to the Contact list. I receive MANY messages / calls from sources that i have NO reason to keep in my contact list.

This is the new 16.1 design.
