Download iOS 16 IPSW, hold alt, click on check for update button in finder and install the iOS. Your data is fine it’s just the iOS that gets reinstalled.
Tried that trick and my phone got stuck in downloader mode
Tried this and somehow hosed it up...

Now in recovery mode and the restore of the iOS16 IPSW (from Dev portal) gives these error. It tried to download the file directly but got maybe 25% and threw that error
Same thing happened to me.

Get the ipsw on your Mac
Backup the phone as it is now (encrypted) on the Mac
Go the backup folder locate the info.plist and open it up in textedit. Locate productversion it should say the product version as 16.1. Change this to 16.0. Restore the phone from the ipsw and then restore the backup from Mac.

Que 1000 more questions. 😆😂

Couple of recent major issue on both devices :( Both on 16.1

iPhone 13 ProMax
Was in Messages and the phone froze. Couldn’t swipe anything. Try to shut it down and you could not swipe to Off. Had to soft reset.

iPad Pro 11 2020
Even worse.
Have had it freeze 2x today. Once on YouTube - had to soft reset, once on Files - also had to soft reset.

After the soft reset they work fine. Almost. Does anyone know a possible entry that might link to this in Analytics?

Feedback reported.
If no update tomorrow will ipsw the iphone.

Did an ipsw update on my 13 ProMax this morning. Had a respring within the first 5 minutes but all seems well since then.

On the flip side I was in Discord on my iPad and it froze - screen totally unresponsive. Soft reset

Might do the ipsw on the iPad tomorrow or Wed .... want to give my 13PM a day or so to see if this fixed the issue. 🤞

is it anyone else having got troubles with this beta when calling through airpods3?
i have everytime to switch audio from airpods to speaker and viceversa on a new call to be heard from the interlocutor 😭😭😭😭

Wow... that was rude... I don't think anyone in here is under any obligation to perform tests for people who don't want to install the betas.. so getting upset because no one responded to your 1st or 2nd request in unwarranted.

If you are this concerned, you are better off NOT worrying about the latest betas as it wounds like you are looking to install it on your daily driver.
I'm not looking to install it, I'm looking to know if I need to downgrade before it's too late and Apple's incompetency forces me to buy YET ANOTHER new computer just to preserve my photos.

The trash and hidden albums aren't syncing with Photos for Mac (I'm on Monterey 12.6) I posted a thread about it here.
EDIT: Sorry, please ignore. I should have posted this in the 16.0 thread as I'm on iOS16. Mods please remove if possible.

It’s all about the OTA now.
It’s the future 😆😂

I don’t get this whole photo album milarckie… I’ve had photos with Apple since god 2007.

Still got those photos in the photos App, 15 years later. Never have I been forced to upgrade my device just for that.

Best just call Apple actually, if you’ve got all this old tech new devices mixing up thing going on your tech space.

@Banglazed @Pearsey A while back I asked why when I add a specific iOS version to Home Screen I get the list of iOS versions page instead of the specific version’s page I added.
I figured out a workaround.
Open the versions page you want and copy the URL. Enable airplane mode. Paste and go to the URL. Then add it to Home Screen. Change the name. Viola. The only problem seems to be not getting the favicon. A small price to pay 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m having the iMessage issue and the cannot update software issue.

I have wiped my phone and went to set up as new but it’s still on 16.1

Anyway to get my phone to 16.0.1 without computer?
I’m trying to do the same. How do you do it? Battery life appears to be much worse on 16.1 (for me) on IP 14P.

You, like Apple, apparently don't understand that some of us are forced to use older machines because some critical pro audio software does not work on the newer stuff.

But, let's keep up the buggy, glitch-ridden annual releases and drop support for a perfectly-stable OS after only three years. Because revenue.

So keep your photos either in the cloud or on your phone. Apple does not have a duty to maintain its software forever because some third party developer doesn't bother upgrading its software to work with newer OSes. You're not getting a lot of sympathy from anyone here. Maybe think about why that is.

"The Cloud" meaning "Someone Else's Hard Drive." I hope you never have the privilege of experiencing a data loss due to sync error or service failure. You'll change your mind real quick.

I don’t think you can call it “pro” if it has you stuck on an old machine making your life, as you can see it, a nightmare.

I’d definitely isolate that machine to the “pro” software only and run everything else off an up to date or current device.

I think you’ll find your life a lot more stress free and start to understand Apple more as a brand. 👍🏼

Hmmm….I’m guessing the GPS bug has finally kicked in…

That's how the pro audio community works unfortunately: If it ain't broke, don't touch it. Recording studios are full of old Macs. Mojave might be the best audio workstation OS ever released.

I wish I could get a new machine. I already spent my upgrade budget on a base-model M1 MBA for school when Apple broke iCloud Sync on my 2011 MBP by conveniently forgetting to push an updated certificate, even though they clearly state iCloud still works on High Sierra.

Is he on 16.1 as well?

never ending journey and fair.

Always a set price between airports and certain zones, so I always know the price…at least coming in from NJ.

$65 + $5.50 credit card fee…another $20 in told….tip….ouch

…and I know where I’m going…so…

13 ProMax - ipsw update
While I have not had device freezes after doing the ipsw update, I am now getting touch issues. I am finding that my first tap doesn't always register. Not app specific. Can happen within an app. Hoping it isn't a hardware issue. 🤞

Just did ipsw on my iPad Pro 11. Crossing fingers ....

Since the new beta didn't release today, some things I haven't seen posted in the 18 pages:
  1. Backup to Mac requires a pin code on the phone/ipad to start the backup. Weird bug.
  2. The accept to each and every paste bug is back.
For those complaining about bugs coming back (like #2), often in modern software development, people will fork off a version and work on multiple forks simultaneously, like let's say 16.0 beta 8/RC and 16.0.1. This looks like it was forked off around beta 6 or 7. Hence, some bugs are back. I'm betting they're merging updates from the later 16.0 betas back into this release train (16.1) and through the beta cycle you'll see the cleanup of 16.0 and the fix of 16.0.1 merge into this in one of the upcoming betas.

This is normal beta stuff.
