iOS 16.1 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Although I reverted back to 16.0.2, I found that both 16.1 betas I was on briefly had major widget issues. Sometimes just not listing any third party widgets at all after a reboot. Much like that bad watch beta where we went a week without third party widgets 🤔🤨
Widgets seem to work fine on my 13P. Had a couple “Weather unavailable” on the Lock Screen but sorted out once I tapped on the widget. And visual glitches while going from landscape to portrait while playing PiP when connected to APP but other than that it’s been working fine for me.
Hopefully things will get more refined in the upcoming betas.

System Crash
Was on this site and clicked the Power button to put it to sleep. Hit the space bar on my Magic Keyboars and got the System Crash screen. Then when I click “Share” it locked up solid.

Airplay bug still happens I’ll and throw music to the tv for example snd it keeps selecting the “bedroom” since it’s first in my airplay list.
It’s not a touch issue cause my screen lets me click other areas. But airplay list only lets me select the top one. Anyone else have this?

I know many of you are having crap battery life in this build and I feel for you.
Fwiw, a different data point: my 14PM is getting about 75 to 90 minutes screen on time for each 10% of battery drain. Mix of safari, games, streaming music & YouTube videos on Wi-Fi and cellular.

That is about normal for my 13 ProMax. 60-90 minutes for each 10% on average.
As long as it is within that range I figure I am good.
That’s about 10-15 hours of screen time. For people running betas.

My phone has been off a charge (except about 10 minutes in my car Qi charger) for 15 hours. I’ve used 62% of the battery with about 8 hours of screen on time, so I’m getting roughly 80 minutes per 10% of battery life.
Anyone having an issue with not being able to delete messages? It’s a new issue for me, never experienced it prior to PB2. Tried turning cloud syncing on/off. Tried deleting a message many times, it just immediately repopulated the list of messages
Top left in the message app hit edit and go in your recent delete messages , delete messages and you will be able to delete the one you are trying to delete .. had this issue last week

Not a bug but my main gripe with the widgets on the lockscreen is the fact that they are all colourless.
Why couldn't Apple have implemented the correct colours for each of the widgets, according to their corresponding apps?

There’s a full qwerty keyboard to use, not all of us are trained in Morse 😆😂
Question: with eSIM/eSIM and eSIM/SIM, is there a way to make the contacts for one line silent while leaving the other line with sound?
Was playing around yesterday seeing what it would take to consolidate from a work and personal phone to one that handles both.
For the work phone, Phone/Messages/Teams would be silent after working hours but the personal line would still have all sound.
Not seeing anything on my 13ProMax that could handle this.

That would be a dream, especially if you could tie it to Focus times. I don’t get enough phone calls on my work phone to merit it, but can definitely see the benefit of something like that.
No...and it sucks.
I use a lot of messaging and would love to set up things like different colors, sounds, etc....focus modes...ugh.
You could call it "The Severance Phone": the work "phone" would not know what the home "phone" is doing!
