Same for me on my 12.

Can’t speak for a 14 but it seems that the always on screen is very bright and needs tweaking. So could be the culprit.

Big up connectivity though. See iPhone 13 pros on 1 bar LTE and 14 pro 3 bars.

This guys done a pretty comprehensive comparison. The speaker 😍

Yeah I’ve noticed home/Lock Screen at the top of battery usage daily as well. The speakers are more immersive!

Same issue with Facebook running in background and eating a lot of battery.
I think if you are logged off from Facebook app, you will not have any problems. Try it!!

This basically means to not use it all...same thing as deleting it.

Still seeing stutter when minimizing apps. To be fair, I was experiencing that on official iOS 16 build

Annoying it’s only on the 14. Not like it’s a hardware issue other iPhones can’t do. We should all be able to chime
Shut Down chime any iOS device could do, but the Boot ROM of pre-iPhone 14 devices may actually be READ ONLY and have no capability for audio playback.

When an iOS or iPadOS device is turned on, its Application Processor immediately executes code from read-only memory referred to as Boot ROM. This immutable code, known as the hardware root of trust, is laid down during chip fabrication and is implicitly trusted.

Best they could do is a later startup sound once iOS is loaded. iPhone 14 it’s immediate at the Apple logo.

Still no startup or shutdown chime on my 14 PM. Anyone else?
This seems like a bug in 16.1 beta 2.

The startup and shutdown chime worked consistently when my 14PM was running 16.0.1.

As soon as I installed 16.1b2, it stopped working.

(I never ran beta 1 so I don't know whether the startup/shutdown chime worked on beta 1.)

Reported.

So… is the latest iPadOS public beta supposed to look like this? Why does it say 16 beta 7? Shouldn’t it say 16.1 or beta 9?

It is the 9th beta of the new iPadOS software. It started off as for iPadOS 16.0 but now will be released as iPadOS 16.1. Nevertheless, and likely because its been one continuous series, they’ve continued the beta numbering system. Why its showing up for you as beta 7 is because there were 2 developer betas before the first public beta was released in early July. So, what you’re seeing is the latest and greatest.
