Updating to an old version using IPSW isn’t without risks and restoring is a PITA and time consuming especially if you have an Apple Watch even with the backup.

Why have they changed the battery icon in iOS 16.1 from iOS 16 as I find now hard to read the numbers. Before it was fine.
I still don’t understand the 50% battery requirement so to install an update. 20% makes sense but 50? 🤡
🙋♂️ I'll charge my device when it needs it, not when "they" say I can. I also travel so I don't want to be in a situation where I plug in and it doesn't charge.
Mine animates like normal if I double tap the sleep/wake button when the phone is locked. However, if the phone is already unlocked and I double tap the button, I get no animation.
EDIT: this just started working normally for me. Weird.

Spoke too soon. They do disappear on 16.1. They were not disappearing on earlier betas.
It’s mostly designed around devices with aging batteries as they tend to get less reliable so the higher the battery charge the better it’d hold under the demand.
Interesting. That's how I would like it. The buttons do not disappear for me (Pro Max 14).

Yep... been having the same bug during the betas as well, probably on iOS 16 too.
If 16.1 is much better than 16.0.3, I can finally tell my parents to update from the last iOS 15 update.
They hate when they update and it turns out to be worse. These days I tell them to hold off and I’m sure they would’ve hated the janky glitchy battery chugging iOS 16 introduction 😂
