Just installed. First tweak, turn off clean charging.

I know everyone’s gonna tell me my phone is indexing after the update but holy crap this is the hottest I’ve ever felt an iPhone. I’m worried it’s gonna blow up. Never had an iPhone get this hot before. I updated many hours ago and the heat just started.

iPhone 14 Pro Max btw.

Manually close all the apps and Hard-reset the iPhone. Then, turn it on and leave it alone for 5 minutes or so. That seemed to solve the problem for me.

Is it weird… every time my iPhone gets hot I feel like the iPhone 📱 battery life span is degrading 🤯

So far… battery life is MUCH better. By this time at night I should be at a much lower percentage than I am right now.

I don’t know why that was but maybe it was a but or process that would not go away with restarts.

It got hot for me after the update, too, I almost wanted to take off the case to let it breathe. And I did check my battery health after, just in case lol.

I was using the Alarm lock screen widget, which displayed for when the alarm was set. This was nice. Now it's just an icon, no numbers.
???

I also use the alarm clock Lock Screen widget and I still get the alarm time displayed.

Maybe a restart?

Updated to iOS 16.1 this morning. Battery life is terrible I’m on 8% and it’s only 5PM. Usually I get to at least 10PM by this %.

I also can’t see clean charging (to disable it). I’ve attached screenshots below from my iPhone 14 Pro Max

Try a Hard restart. Sounds like somethings over processing. Images all synced ok?

My widget says alarm off which is untrue. Hard reset not fixed it.

There could be a bug with the alarm widget not updating. A couple of us reported it on the RC and I was thinking it may be fixed but won't know for sure until my morning alarm time changes but in short, the alarm widget doesn't update based on the actual wake up time for the sleep alarm.

One way to fix it temporarily is to adjust the sleep alarm time manually and the widget should update. I don't know yet if it will update automatically.

I have just realised clean charging is only available in US which explains why my Australian iPhone doesn’t have the option.

Macrumors should add that to the homepage
