Not here. Phone feels like it’s on steroids. Everything is popping open, fast.
Sadly I’m not having the same experience on a 13 mini. There’s definitely a delay, especially with repeated presses of the side button. And no, I don’t have any Apple Pay/Siri/Accessibility shortcuts (which could potentially cause a delay) tied to the button.

I call it a bug; someone else on this board called it a data-loss bug; Apple probably calls it improved design.

Configured Mac to automatically sync when the phone when connected.
Plugging into mac with lightning cable, iPhone and iPad pop up a screen asking for passcode to trust computer and start a backup.
Once is fine, but it doesn't remember that I trust this computer. Next time I plug it in, the phone again asks for permission.
This breaks the old well-established behavior of setting it up once and it automatically backing up when plugged in, without user interaction.

I submitted a new feedback on this one. iOS/iPadOS 16.1 (20B82)

Meh. I'm not bothering. I'll stay on RC2 as I have no issues with it, and wait for the 16.2 betas to roll out.
RC2 ? Wasn't aware there was a 2nd RC for iOS.
I still don’t understand the 50% battery requirement so to install an update. 20% makes sense but 50? 🤡
Most likely to stop complaints and issues of bad installs due to phone dying right in the middle of an OS overwrite. That is never a good thing to have happen during any update much less the OS.

I can always go back to 16.1 if that happens; I know how to upgrade and downgrade. I'm no beta virgin 😆
If you’re okay with restore and backup it’s all good👌🏼.
But update to 16.1 using IPSW could potentially introduce new bugs.

Damn.. this feels so much faster and smoother and less buggy than 16.0.3 and it’s noticeable to me.

The new battery percentage design is a bit ugly though, that font looks weird.

I installed it via iTunes, closed out all my apps and did a restart. Can’t wait to see if the battery improves after indexing. It’s been a bit brutal battery wise since iOS 16 😂 😭

You’re being kind of a Debbie Downer re the betas. Why would downgrading via IPSW introduce any bugs?

I think it’s safe to say that people you see in these forums regularly accept the risk of a beta and (for the most part) know how to revert back if there’s a problem.

Not lately with all the posts of how do I downgrade back to blah blah blah.

Debbie Downer or Ronald Riser.
The process isn’t designed to downgrade and just cuz it didn’t happen before doesn’t mean it can’t happen. And my advice was aimed at someone who can’t risk or would rather avoid hiccups. But if you have any source proving your point then, please.

Has it been determined what actually changed between RC and final?

I’m probably not even going to bother updating unless/until there is a substantial reason to do so. Don’t fix what ain’t broken.

I only have 1 data point to work with but it looks like 16.1 fixed my 14 Pro not switching from Light/Dark themes at the custom times of day I've set. The last few days this has completely stopped working.
