In case anyone is experiencing the 16.1 wifi disconnect issues, Settings > Cellular > Wi-Fi Assist might be worth a glance. The feature has been troublesome for me in the past so I keep it off, but I found today that at some point it must’ve turned itself back on. I’m not sure it will help but hey, it’s good to be aware either way.

Much bettery battery life, some intermittent lag in the keyboard, occasional stutters in animations, unable to turn up/down the volume with the phone against the ear, the yellow notification dot appears next to the battery instead of the island.
14pm
Pretty solid I’d say, at least compared to 16.0.2.

This is a really minor thing but ever since 16.0 I've been seeing graphical jitters in the FB Messenger app. 16.1 did not fix this. Anyone else experiencing this?

12 pm, no difference in battery drain.

Also you cant choose Apple wallpapers directly from customize homescreen.

I call it a bug; someone else on this board called it a data-loss bug; Apple probably calls it improved design.

Configured Mac to automatically sync when the phone when connected.
Plugging into mac with lightning cable, iPhone and iPad pop up a screen asking for passcode to trust computer and start a backup.
Once is fine, but it doesn't remember that I trust this computer. Next time I plug it in, the phone again asks for permission.
This breaks the old well-established behavior of setting it up once and it automatically backing up when plugged in, without user interaction.

I submitted a new feedback on this one. iOS/iPadOS 16.1 (20B82)

Keep requiring to authorize computer when syncing with my mac on itunes.
Yup. I think they intended this behavior change (not remembering trusted backup computers), but I really don't like it.

On my new iPhone 14 Pro Max i don't have wifi calling, any one knows how to fix it?
I just tested wifi calling on my 14PM for the first time since updating to 16.1 public release. It works well.

You might have tried these already, if not, try powering off the phone then powering it on. If that doesn't work, you can try resetting network settings. Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone (at the bottom of General) > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Others here know more than me and probably can think of a few other solutions.

Good luck!

Don’t have as in Wi-Fi calling indicator is not showing or it’s not working ? My Wi-Fi calling indicator doesn’t show unless I turn airplane mode on and off. However even with Wi-Fi calling indicator not present and switching to airplane mode I can still make calls via Wi-Fi calling. It’s been like this for me for a while.

I’m on AT&T. On my 14PM I can see a WiFi calling indicator when pulling down the Lock Screen/Notification Center as in the screenshot below or pulling down Control Center, the same indicator appears there as well. It does not appear on a Home Screen.

That might be a carrier thing. Again on AT&T this is my control center icon. I assume your Lock Screen is the same as the control center image above.

Anyone else has this bug on ios 16? It follows me already since my 11 Pro:

After some up-time of the phone when you drag down the notification center, the WiFi, Signal and carrier icons dont appear until you let go from the screen..

Annoying as hell

I have the same thing (just switched to T-Mobile). On my att phone it shows up all the time.

Must be carrier

(Regarding the wifi calling)

So anyone know why Sports Alert won’t show live activities for NCAA football games?
Took me about 2 hours straight after the start of games today to figure that out. They currently only support pro sports with the current version. Very frustrating.

I don't like that ever since iOS 16, Spotlight search results have a lag to them whereas previously they were basically instant.

My shortcut automations have failed this morning. I suspect it’s related to daylight saving last night. It is supposed to enable „light mode“ with a different focus and wallpaper upon sunrise instead i had a „shortcut failed“ notification on my Lockscreen
