iOS 16.1 iPhone volume controls during call not working

  • While on a call, distance the iPhone from your face and bring it into normal holding position.
  • Click Volume Up or Volume Down. Is the earpiece audio level being altered? It should work!
  • However, as soon as you bring your iPhone back to your ear they will become unresponsive again.

What is your iPhone model? iOS 16.1.1?

While in a normal phone call with iOS 16.1, the volume buttons on the phone do not work to adjust the volume on the call unless you pull the phone away from your head and cause the screen to come back on. I had this issue all through the beta and reported it as a bug -- and the Feedback app shows that there were more than reports from others that reported it. Can anyone else confirm? This is with a 14 Pro.

I am having the same problem, and I was thinking that it is an issue with my phone only but now I m seeing many people complaining about it, let's see when apple will see this coz this is a major problem now xd

Guess, everybody in the 16.2 beta forum has iPhone 14’s then; saying fixed. Others not complaining about the call volume bug.

in exactly this forum you mention people are saying it’s fixed only for 14 models
 
I have 12 pro max and same issue on 16.1.1. I haven't tested on 16.1.2 yet.
It seemed like the map navigation volume was affected also when connected to a car. I wonder if anyone noticed this or is it just me?

Iphone 11 Pro Max here. Have this Problem Since 16.1
And newest Update and Reset of the Device didnt helped.

I hope, they fix it ASAP.
