iOS 16.2 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Took 40mins using phone transfer then just signing back into a few banking apps.

Very silky smooth process, even repairing with my watch. It did a 1gig up to 16.1 update as part of the transfer.

Phone is fast. No stutters in and out of apps. And the DI, only get the border when phone is locked or an app is in use, rest of the time it’s black up there.. Got a black wallpaper and dark mode on all the time, no focus modes.

Absolutely love it. The DI is awesome. Feels so custom to your needs. Phone receiver now a thing of the past with it up near the bezel. Screen really is liquid. That 120 promotion is like gliding on ice.

Early days, but I don’t feel I need to reinstall the iOS. Animations are beautiful. Rapid and smooth.

I’m not going to be able to put this down today. Will charge to 100% and unplug, and see what we get when we hit 25%. Just for 💩 & giggles.

Have it off for now. I’ll see what battery I get. Then I’ll do discharge with it on. And just for curiosity see what the outcomes are. Won’t be perfect but might give us an idea. Also, I don’t need to know the time, all the time. And notifications, well they can wait. So I’ll probs have it off anyway. I use my phone frequently enough in a day not to miss anything. And I quite like the physical aspect of the tap.

Loving the new weight. Feels very solid. 😜

I agree with all that, only reason I have it on is for testing soon as I’m done its going back off..

Have any of the bugs been fixed in 16.2? The memory management and shutters that open when closing an app? I can’t believe these made it into the final version of iOS 16.1. I can’t leave any apps open and expect them to be where I left off anymore. I am using the 14 PM so I should have the most RAN possible.

Safari on 16.2 is buttery smooth compared to previous versions. The promotion always felt a little off compared to google chrome and you could notice small stutters when scrolling. It finally feels perfect with this update.

Anyone else having issues syncing Freeform between devices? I have it selected as an iCloud app on my Phone and my Mac but things I have done on my phone are not visible to the Mac and vice versa. It shows up as a continuity tab when I am in the tab switcher on my phone and in the dock (as a continuity item) on my Mac, so I know its "iCloud aware"

Visibility across devices works for me after enabling in iCloud settings on both iPhone and Mac. Some things clearly still need ironing-out

Pretty sure this has been tweaked? Didn’t use to have a backdrop?

How long do I need to stay in an app to replicate that stutter when closing app issue? Didn‘t notice it on my 14 pro, 16.1 or 16.2 doesn‘t matter.
