Hey all, while we are sorting through the boatloads of bugs still with ios 16, I just wanted to share that it is still possible to downgrade back to iOS 15.7.1. All you need to do is download the ipsw and rollback to iOS 15.6 RC through iTunes or finder, and update OTA to 15.7.1. For some reason, that build is still being signed. Just thought to share since I’m sure there is a few people like me regretting ever updating to iOS 16 in its current state. Just rolled back my 13PM, keeping the 8 plus on iOS 16.2 and testing new betas in hopes things improve, but in the meantime there is a option 😀

Cheers

I'm amazed at how small the stutter is in beta 2. To me it's completely usable. I honestly thought by all the comments that it would be a deal-break.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want it on a permanent basis but for a day or two it's totally fine. iPhone 14 Pro Max here.

It's there but I kinda have to look for it. If it hadn't been mentioned to me I think it would have taken a few days for me to see it.

Has anyone restored in this beta? I had to restore on Friday, and it doesn't download the messages from icloud, neither sms nor imesage and I don't know if it's a problem with the beta or something has happened with my copy of icloud.
Make sure to enable download messages in icloud settings

Does anyone know if the bug where the messages app reloads (after exiting the app while in a conversation) to your main list of conversations has been fixed?
Hey this seems to be fixed for me with beta 2...so far anyway!

…spoke too soon - it’s happening again.

is enabled. In fact, I just restored from icloud and it doesn't download anything, it's a disaster. icloud should be there to safeguard data, not to lose it

For people who reacted to my post, I am happy to say that I was able to fix up Apples mistake. And because of you guys, including my friend ( hi my friend!) I have cleaned up the app count. But not too much!!

When I used to click and hold on the alert bell, it would open the alerts as a selectable option - like double clicking in Safari on the MB. Instead it now opens as a link option only or a basic list (see attached).

Beta 2 fixes battery issues for me. I lost 2% overnight as opposed to about 10 on 6.1.1.

It’s good to be back to normal (finally).

For India 5G, the baseband firmware or carrier update is clearly buggy. Everyday baseband crashes and network disappears. Waiting for today’s beta 3. The stutters while swiping homescreen on 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are highly annoying.

When a family member, child, requests to buy an app there is no way to say ok on the notification on the parents phone.

I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro Max and went from about 70% or so down to 50% overnight. Oddly enough, like others I’ve seen posted here, it’s the FindMy app… “finding” me while I’m asleep. I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hmm. I’m on the same phone and it’s always the Find My app for me too. It’s still there on beta 2 but it only took a few % since the update. I’ll keep an eye on it.

you don't have the full time period selected. That Find My usage is only for the time you have selected.
That's correct. I just didn't feel like doing a screen recording due to some other personal info that would/could come up. Regardless, Find My was the main culprit at 100% along with Lock Screen showing a dash instead of some percentage. This is reflected from 10PM last night to 5AM this morning.
