iOS 16.2 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Can’t set up a new AirTag on my 14PM…. Tried rebooting phone, reset network settings, adding it via find my app…. Nothing works. The phone doesn’t recognize it or pick it up at all…

Put it next to my wife’s 13PM which isn’t on any betas and it picked it up right away so there’s nothing wrong with the AirTag itself.
 
I have a strange issue on this Beta , I can See 5G toggle to enable but Airtel App still says 5G software is not yet available on my IP3 Pro. I still see only 4G on data. Anyone else facing same issue in India ?

Then tap on ‘Network Provider’

If there is anything to update from your carrier this will promote it.

I cannot get Face ID to work on this beta, I’ve reset it and still can’t work.

On my Mac, which is NOT on a beta, the app isn’t crashing, but the Listen Now tab isn’t working. It’s telling me there was an issue and to retry. Everything else works correctly though.

Huh. Must've been a server side thing. Both issues have worked themselves out!

Well, I couldn't live with the stuttering screen, so I downgraded to 16.1.1 - which turned out to be a full recovery and restore from backup. Everything is really smooth, including scrolling.
But I am a glutton for punishment and so updated back to 16.2 b2 via IPSW, and now there is the slightest stutter when the screen scrolling slows down and comes to a stop.
Hmm, I'll keep an eye on it and see if it improves, or gets worse over time - as some others have reported here.

Try locking the frame rate as @Pearsey mentioned previously in post 181 as a temp work around if it gets unbearable.

Thanks for the pointer. Saw that, but now I am used to promotion, scrolling at 60 just doesn’t cut it 😵‍💫. First world problems…
Anyway, the stutter appears to be “one frame” dropping when the screen scroll slows down, pretty close to the scroll actually stopping. Nothing like I had when I installed 16.2 b2 the first time.

Not sure if this is new or not. I vaguely remember only being able to swipe away the right side audio bars in the dynamic island when music is playing. Dynamic island stayed expanded size just without the audio bars present. But on this beta I’m able to swipe away the left side album art together with the audio bars and minimize the island to compact.

I'm with @bbfc . Hard to tell for sure, but I'm pretty sure there are fewer glitches. My audio controls in Control Center seem to connect to every item more reliably, my morning Authomations seem to have consistently fired when required, etc. Of course, with all of these, the troubles were intermittent, so I can say with certainty that it's all fixed. But definitely, so far, so good.

The pop up you get that shows the APP including battery level have been very hit or miss on this beta.
Frequently the pop up will not show. Other times it does.
The APP are not on beta.

Definitely more responsive and I’ve had no updating status/unresponsive issues.
