Could someone who is on 16.2 beta 2 post a screen recording of the new stutters?

Also, does anyone know (beside these new stutters) if the "lag when swiping up to close an app" has been fixed? I somehow don't dare installing that new beta with all those stutter reports.

Do you have a ProMotion phone? If not I wouldn’t worry about it.

I do, it's an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I'm on iOS 16.1.1 and it works well, I'm just bothered about the swipe up lag. But if I risk introducing worse stutters by upgrading, I'll hold off and wait for the next beta.

Seems like there’s no guarantee you’d be in the clear, then. You were smart to hold off on upgrading.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed?

The orange privacy dot is out of place when you are on a phone call. I’m wondering if this has been fixed on IOS 16.2 Beta 2. It’s been driving my OCD crazy!

Is the orange dot showing audio usage supposed to be that far to the left? I guess I never noticed it.

It's a UI design flaw. It looks even worst when you are on a phone call. The orange dot moves further out. I hate looking at it. Looks dysfunctional

Just discovered something tonight. When you are on a regular phone call this is where the dot appears. Out of place!

However, If you make a phone call on WhatsUp App the Orange dot is embedded under Dynamic Island. This is where it needs to be. See below...

That’s because WhatsApp is not taking advantage to show information in the dynamic island during the call

Can anyone confirm that on this beta the option to set the standard CardDAV provider in Settings/Contacts is gone? I’ve no clue if this is standard for every beta, but I was surprised to find out it’s gone which means all new contacts end up in the wrong account.

Not seeing that option per sae but there is an option to select the "default account" so not entirely sure what you are referring to.

Thanks for the pointer. Saw that, but now I am used to promotion, scrolling at 60 just doesn’t cut it 😵‍💫. First world problems…
Anyway, the stutter appears to be “one frame” dropping when the screen scroll slows down, pretty close to the scroll actually stopping. Nothing like I had when I installed 16.2 b2 the first time.

Hopefully that means beta 3. And Tuesday. So not long to wait now.

Yes, indeed, but it’s not present in this beta… just check Settings/Contacts….

No way. Not see any stuttering previously. Somethings up with promotion. It’s effecting my phone globally and on all apps. Really don’t think this is settling in behaviour.

Probably of useful note, I didn’t start seeing this stuttering issue until 16.1.1, and I think that was released after 16.2b1, and if still included in 16.2.b1, and Feedback quickly notes a fix is planned, seems like things might be rushed on their end.

Has anyone restored in this beta? I had to restore on Friday, and it doesn't download the messages from icloud, neither sms nor imesage and I don't know if it's a problem with the beta or something has happened with my copy of icloud.

It's hidden in Contacts --> Accounts --> Add an account --> Other

Noticed something today for the first time with any iOS beta. CarPlay using Google Maps has a delay...roughly 1/10th of a mile....through a city a couple of blocks have passed before it's caught up on the screen. Come to a stop and watch the icon still keep moving. Not glitchy at all, just slow.

I have been running into this issue in call apps, most noticeably for me in Teams, if you are in landscape mode on a call and want to switch to external speaker, when yo click on the speaker icon, the screen switches to portrait then immediately back to landscape precluding you from changing the speaker. You have to go to portrait mode to execute the change.
Could be an app issue however I did not have this issue last beta.

I was hesitant to jump from 16.1.1 to 16.2b2 due to all of the complaints about how bad the stuttering issue is, but I was already having a stuttering issue on 16.1.1, seemingly sounding like the same issue. After updating, I'm seeing no change with that. Although, most of my other issues are gone, so that's great! But the Stuttering issue, it's not THAT bad. I'm honestly unsure why there isn't more reporting it on 16.1.1

I tried this about 6 times already, and a message that it is downloading the messages does not come out, but it does not download anything. It does not advance and disappears and there are messages with 3 points blinking constantly. I also tried closing and logging in to icloud again and nothing, it still doesn't work.
