My iOs devices battery widgets won't report the case of my AirPods Pro (2nd) Gen after the update anymore. Until I forgot and reconnected the device it continuously and erroneously shown the case at 51%; now it does not show up. The buds do, but not the case.

:7 Is this the Apple Magic everyone is talking about?
Today’s Apple is not the Apple of yesteryear. Today’s Apple has no comprehension of “magic” or “it just works”.

Sad but true. Widgets’re nice though.

Mail app running in the background - Reboot my iPhone solved the issue.

I’ve noticed this since iOS 15. Whenever there is an OS upgrade, the mail app runs in the background following the restart after upgrading. Rebooting fixes this issue every time, for me at least.
For what it's worth, I've been seeing this with each update as well. It happens 100% of the time on my phone and sometimes on my iPad. A restart always clears it up somehow, it's like the update attributes something running in the background to Mail for some reason.

The problem of the Apple Pencil 2 not charging when the iPad is in "Do not Disturb" mode has been resolved. The discharging of my Apple Pencil, which started happening with 13.2, no longer happens with 13.2.2

Hi. Apologies as I didn’t find anything on the topic. Is anyone experiencing stuttering in the Settings app when scrolling up and down menus? I go to AppStore tab and scroll quick up and down the screen freezes. Then I go back to all the settings page and the stuttering intensifies in different tabs. Appreciate any input on this if someone else can replicate. I am using an iPhone 14 pro max and on iOS 16.3.1. Thanks for any help.

There’s a large thread (almost 1000 posts) on this issue under “14 Pro Max lag when closing application (swipe up)”.

I can’t seem to. Sorry
No worries. The mods’ll clean it up. Seems to me like a glaring omission to not be able to delete your own posts. I usually just edit it to say delete or whatever.

I just happened upon my widget page and noticed my weather widget has changed. Couldn’t tell ya what exactly has changed but it’s definitely different.

With the help of the Apple Support I could unfreeze it, it seems that you need to go to

Settings -> General -> Date & Time: Set another timezone, dis- or enable Set Automatically
Settings -> General -> Language and Region: Switch to another region

You might or might need to do a reset after this step;

Now revert all of those back to your usual timezone and region and it should display again under your widgets. This did the trick for me. I know it is weird, but whatever works :). Though I needed to do it per device!

At least it seems their support is somewhat capable to guide you and address the issues you are facing, so I at least take comfort in that. Sure this is what I expect from the pricing, but (and this is a low bar to pass), other companies that ask for a pretty penny won't have that service, thus I take it.

GUYS, restarting devices "can" do marvellous things!

It should be the first thing you do be it a router, iPhone, Mac blah blah... before posting oh here. 👍🏼❤️
Do these devices not restart after updating? Ladies & Gentlemen, I say this with the best intentions. An overwhelming number of posts on this thread show new issues introduced after updating to 16.3.1.

Don’t let Apple use you as guinea pigs with these releases. I understand new features are very useful for most of you. It’s a major reason I am keeping an eye on these threads.

Stay on prior versions of iOS until they are as updates used to be with Apple where everything just worked. Make Apple invest in real quality control with these releases instead of counting on you to be their free bug finders.

Hello from Greece,
From iOS 16.3 and now 16.3.1 some emails have questions marks instead of text. I always using native email app iPhone 14.

Riiiiight….

Anyone having battery issues on this version?

Am down to 18% and it’s the end of the day. Usually have around 50% left!

Since updating my battery is trash.
I have 80% remaining on my 14 PM. I took it off the charger at 100% 13 hours ago. I’m very pleased, been using it all day.

Strange, might give it a few more days and try a reinstall.

I’d say I’m medium to heavy user but the past few days I’ve been off work so haven’t really used my 14 PM.
