Still having dreaded WiFi disconnects with this beta. The WiFi connection randomly drops off and switches me back to 5G, then claims it's my modem having issues (but that the connection to the router is fine). All other devices work perfectly, so it's for sure a phone issue.

Started happening with the 14 Pro, but has gotten better/worse with each different modem/software version.

Turn private relay off, see if that helps at all. Also the Mac Address option in WiFi settings under your router address can play fowl sometimes.

Whats up with the problem of Siri saying "you'll need to unlock your iPhone first" when asking for her to do something like play music and a whole slew of other things? Been this way ever since I got my 13. A web search calls it a bug that goes back a ways. Some have it, some don't, but it is well known and it is the main reason I don't stick with the iPhone and revert always back to pixel. Was hoping with each update it'd be fixed but might as well hope for a jump over the moon. All settings for lock screen use are turned on as always.
Had this in the car the other day trying to respond to a message and it wouldn’t accept Face ID, only the passcode. Good way to crash into something.
Nokia -> Blackberry -> iPhone

Thats me.
Ahh the golden years of phones.
You guys never messed around with Blackberry? I always thought Blackberry Passport was gorgeous! If I had to pick after the iPhone. That would have been my 2nd choice.

Blackberry Bold was where it was at. Damn thing had a leather battery cover. I still have it somewhere.

Wifi issues (connected but unable to browse, Wireless CarPlay breaking up/losing connection while driving down the road) starting in 16.2... 16.3 Beta 1 actually was problem free then nothing but problems in 16.3 Beta 2, I confirmed the RC still has the issues. Feedback reports submitted each time. I guess I wait and see if 16.4 will fix this.

Good old restarts.
They do wonders 😉👍🏼
We used to have an IT person at my old job who would say, whatever problem you reported to her, "Have you tried re-starting?" Flames could be shooting out of your keyboard, and she'd ask, "Have you tried re-starting."

We made fun of her for that behind her back. But she wasn't wrong.

What steps have tried before waiting for 16.4? that may or may not, fix the issue that could be fixed with a network reset, a new cable or re-pair your bluetooth device in your car and if that didn't fix anything, I'd reinstall the iOS with the IPSW file. Then report if the problem still persists.

16.4 or the next beta doesn't always mean things will be fixed, because it might only be you effected. Thats why it's best to try things for yourselves. you might be pleasantly surprised and not have to wait as long.

I'm saying this to everyone, not just you 👍🏼

She is definitely not wrong. I have spent most of my life doing IT work and what do you think has fixed the most problems with everything that I have worked on? Yes, it’s a simple restart.

For those following along, it’s only been one day but it seems like the RC has fixed my problem with the phone asking for the pass code number every morning for iCloud security. Other than the strange things that the keyboard does when typing in a message or a Facebook post, which I have had with every iOS 16 version, this build has fixed all of my problems.

I had this same issue but on my iPad with 16.2. plugged it in and it recognised there was a cable attached as the battery icon turned green but it wasn't actually charging. after about an hour it still hadn't charged. took the charger out and put it back in and it charged fine. my ipad is basically "brand new". it's a refurbished model that i've only had for about 2 months so not like it's old. that was a month ago and it hasn't happened again.

don't think it's a 16.3 issue. i haven't even updated to 16.3 on any of my devices.
A friend came over to my place and wanted to charge her phone and the same thing happened . She then turned the lightning plug to the other side and her phone started charging .
My husband and I do not have that issue with the same cable .

Usually that means that one of the connectors on the cable is bad but since you said your devices are fine, maybe the friend has a bent pin in the dock, despite being a refurb. It does happen and is usually not a fun thing to deal with.

Where'd you get that wallpaper? Fun!

I was in IT for ages too, can confirm. Even on servers, restarting fixed soooo many issues but customers would still argue till they were blue in the face demanding parts & labor for correctable memory errors where the alert literally told them to restart to correct the error. Don't even get me going on the living hell that was trying to convince people to update their BIOS.

I do not miss being in IT.

I see it if i scroll down the CC. But its doesn't seem to be causing any issues. Not quite following why this is a "bug" since most everything on the phone (inc other apps) are using location services to enhance what they are about. Same with FindMy. How is FindMy supposed to work to locate devices AND airtags if it is not regularly checking for location?

Anyway it seems normal to me but if folks are worried about it using a little battery, then perhaps location services need to be turned off.

I concur. Don't think it's a bug at all.
This “bug” doesn’t exist on my iPad running same iPadOS version. Makes me think it has something to do with the new lock screen stuff.

Isn’t it great that Apple has for the most part ended those nightmares with the iPhone! Sure every once in a while you need to restart it, but all of that other stuff is gone. No wonder why it is so popular.

Does anyone know if the new home architecture has been fixed?! I can’t believe it’s been such a mess and they just removed the option for people who hadn’t updated but left the ones who upgraded with ZERO support or fixes. They just released a ‘new’ HomePod, for the home, and no mentions of the new architecture?
What problems are you having? I updated to the new architecture and it was choppy the first day or two, but a Wifi reboot later and it all stabilized and has been for the past month.
