Sure would be, instead of the usual public release method. This could actually be a good chance to test Apple’s software hot-fix system introduced in 16.4., so we would not need to install the update the usual way.
So true, I have been browsing the new one plus 11 today, it’s time to move on, Apple is a relic of what it was, you can take the Apple out of the Jobs, but you can’t take the Jobs out of the Apple it would seem!I'm glad they're going to fix this mess but there are soooo many other things that need to be fixed.
Apple is a mess. Used to be reliable and as people said "just works".
Those days are long gone. Been gone for the last 5 years.
No, remember everything has to be really difficult with Apple they haven’t even released a statement yet about the weather or anything else not working just the usual silence, this is a company that just doesn’t respect the people using its products so much so that it doesn’t even have the decency to make a statement and tell people what the hell is going on and more to the point they obviously don’t even test the stuff I mean how does this even happen this was supposed be beta tested everybody was running it, Apparently it was all over the Internet. People are sending bug reports and yet the day it’s released it’s broken. This company hasn’t got a clue how to write software That works. Can’t believe they have to release a whole ass point update to fix the Weather app. Can’t they just update the Weather app binary and then upload the patch to the App Store?
Well, just a test it out I just downloaded iOS 16.3.1 and installed it on my phone and the weather was working perfectly all locations. And just to add, I also tried installing a side loaded app that wouldn’t sign so it’s looking like it’s an API issue somewhere it’s even affecting sideload apps being signed using developer accounts. The weather issue is a 100% server side. The Wi-Fi issues on the other hand are OS issues.
If there's a reason to update, which it looks like there is, considering it's only Tuesday I'd say this week most likely as opposed to waiting an entire week for a point point update...It's unclear when the update will be available, but it will likely be released this week or next week.
I also had this issue. Seemed to be an iCloud sync problem. I'd delete locations from the app on my iPhone and they would sometimes be removed from other devices. Sometimes not.for a while I would delete previously saved locations only to have them magically return (the latter seems to have been fixed).
I think the haze of nostalgia has made you forget that there have always been issues, bugs, workarounds and incompatibilities. None of this is new. What is new is that iOS has grown ever more complex and there are simply more features that can break. But there was no "golden age" when everything worked all the time.I'm glad they're going to fix this mess but there are soooo many other things that need to be fixed.

It's a solution in search of a problem. Nobody asked for this.I just want the headset to fail so Apple diverts resources back to the products that yield most of their revenue anyway.
exactly, the initial release of snow leopard, everyone’s favorite OS X to point to when they talk about how stable Apple used to be, had a bug that was erasing peoples entire home folders.I think the haze of nostalgia has made you forget that there have always been issues, bugs, workarounds and incompatibilities. And Apple took almost two months to fully fix it.
Well fired up MB Air M1 and checked weather. Not loading "my location" or next city over in Northern Virginia. But Varadero Cuba is fine? WTF?
Apple is preparing to release iOS 16.4.1 for the iPhone, according to a source with a proven track record for upcoming software updates. It's unclear when the update will be available, but it will likely be released this week or next week.

Minor updates like iOS 16.4.1 are typically focused on bug fixes and security improvements. Since the release of iOS 16.4 in late March, some iPhone users have complained about issues with the Weather app and having to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords. Apple's system status pages acknowledge issues with the Weather app and WeatherKit.
iOS 16.4.1 would be a stopgap update while iOS 16.5 remains in testing. Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 16.5 last week with a few minor changes, including the addition of a Sports tab in the Apple News app and the ability to start a screen recording with Siri. iOS 16.5 will likely be released to the public at some point in May.
Apple is expected to announce iOS 17 at WWDC 2023, which runs from June 5 through June 9.
