Would be good, but people with iOS 15.7 have been having “weather issues” too, so it appears to be something server side?
And Mac OS Ventura also. They did release 15.7.4, 13.3, and 16.4 at the same time. It's either server side or the bug effects all of those releases?

Interestingly weather seems to work fine on my 6S that hasn't updated yet from 15.7.2 to 15.7.4. So maybe it is a bug in a common section of code in the newest updates for weather. 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully this will fix geofencing for HomeKit that 16.4 broke - nothing's like HomeKit telling you that you have left your home while you are still home.

Apple doesn’t get, our time has value. When things go thump in the night, we spend time either understanding a new feature or trouble shooting their poor software. Neither of which I need.
Speaking of thump in the night, my FireTV used to turn on every night. Not fully on; there was no picture. But the speaker would turn on.

Combine this with my wife's late night watching of DTour (which mostly runs haunted house/aliens/etc stuff) and I'd regularly get woken up by jump scares or Ozzy Osbourne's creepy laugh.

Bugs happen.

Yes, BUT!!! It was also the last time I can remember I was able to open 60+ apps on a laptop with 8GB of Memory and still have some to spare..

I wish we could get somewhat close to this level of performance again. Seems like this M1 MBP could do more than what it's currently capable of...

Funny now, looking at the apps I had open in that picture from 13 years ago LOL
Most of that stuff isn't even a thing anymore.
But you said it right there. Most of that stuff doesn’t exist anymore.
Back then you could comfortably run an OS on 2 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage, these days our requirements are quite bigger.

Why the fire TV is 20 bucks, bugs. We pay 7 times for Apple TV. We should get 7 times less bugs.

16.4 has terrible battery life, for me. Also, tired of restarting my phone every day due to WiFi issues.

I hope it also fixes the phone app- Was in the process of rolling back as programmed numbers with pauses/breaks and then additional numbers don’t work after the 16.4 update. The phone app is one of those silly functions I expect to work on an iPHONE.

Can’t believe they have to release a whole ass point update to fix the Weather app. Can’t they just update the Weather app binary and then upload the patch to the App Store?

They could but apparently will not. No app that ships with the phone has ever been updated through the app store. Even though now apps can be deleted and re-downloaded.

I’m assuming the version you see on the app store matches the exact point release version on your device.

Now that I think about it they must go out of their way to avoid providing updates via app store.

How can they provide apps via the app store that can replace the version on your device without keeping the apps updated? They must keep a copy of each version.

Apple is preparing to release iOS 16.4.1 for the iPhone, according to a source with a proven track record for upcoming software updates. It's unclear when the update will be available, but it will likely be released this week or next week.

Minor updates like iOS 16.4.1 are typically focused on bug fixes and security improvements. Since iOS 16.4 was released last week, some iPhone users complained about having to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords. There was also an issue with data failing to load in the Weather app, but Apple's system status page says that problem has now been resolved.

iOS 16.4.1 would be a stopgap update while iOS 16.5 remains in testing. Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 16.5 last week with a few minor changes, including the addition of a Sports tab in the Apple News app and the ability to start a screen recording with Siri. iOS 16.5 will likely be released to the public at some point in May.

Apple is expected to announce iOS 17 at WWDC 2023, which runs from June 5 through June 9.

It does seem like the weather app issues are server side, but hopefully this update also fixes the colors inside the app. Apparently some Jony Ive acolyte got ahold of it and removed the color from the sun, making it one step closer to his dream of a dreary light grey & white world without contrast.
How bizarre! The sun is still yellow on my phone with OS 16.4.

I hope it fixes Apple Music. It's pretty bad, and I figured it would be bad when I was in the RC and it started to be really bad. I thought it was just Marvis but it's the whole thing.

HomeKit still doesn't work properly for me even though Apple thinks it's fixed.. Still get the ridiculous "updating" and then "not responding" outputs as well as saying my Apple TV 4K is "playing" when it actually isn't.
