Have you tried turning off all the “nice to have stuff” and going with just the “need to have stuff“? 👀
Yes sir! I did but I don't like turning off all the nice stuff. I did a hard reset seems to solve the battery drain issue for now. I have a feeling my battery was draining due to a poor cellular signal. I get a very poor cellular signal at work. It stays at 1 bar for good 10 hours or so.

First “new release” notification for a favorited artist I can recall receiving in Apple Music’s Library view. Really quite pleased with the small quality-of-life improvements—especially to Music!—included in iOS 16.4; can’t wait to see how things further improve with beta 2 and beyond. :)

This could be the problem. When I am in a location with a poor cell signal my battery is juiced. I was visiting family the previous weekend and the cellular signal is really bad there. Here is what happened to my battery

Those work 1/1000 times. No need to get excited.

Sadly, I have to keep the Spotify app on my phone, despite the fact that I’ve *favorited* all the same artists on both platforms. Spotify is incredible when it comes to new music notifications. Apple is amazingly bad at at.

Apple Music doesn’t even get the basics down…The Strokes have been a *favorited* artist of mine forever, and their new compilation that came out Friday hasn’t even appeared in my “New Releases” section. Infuriating.

My capacity is at 96%, first time ever it took a hit on a new phone like this. iPhone 14 Pro Max. I blame iOS 16.
I have been getting generally good battery life on iOS 16 with a 14PM, so I have intentionally made myself exercise what I believe are good charging habits: only charge once phone gets down to about 20-25%, charge to full and then remove from charger, try not to leave phone on charger overnight, etc...

Same—my green 13 mini (acquired March 2022) is also down to 96% after nearly a year. Actually a slower degradation than I saw with my previous iPhone 12, which I also charged more often with MagSafe than I do my 13 mini (still use MagSafe quite a bit, however). I think whatever Apple did or may have done to mature MagSafe along with the well-known battery improvements brought with the 13 series have actually made a strangely significant difference for being just one generational step.

A four-percent drop on a newer, far more premium 14 Pro Max that quick does give me iPhone 12 vibes though, gotta say…

I’m definitely ready for beta two. I’m having some issues with the screen getting locked up and the layers flashing on and off. A reboot always fixes it for a while usually a day or two. But this is a phone that is less than a month old now and I would like it to work like it. Yes I know that I am running a beta. But I have been constantly running a beta for 12 different iOS version now. Since iOS 4 beta 1. And for the most part I never had any issues. But as I have said before, iOS 16 has been my worst version other than iOS 13. A version that ran just like it’s number would cause you to expect.

Quick question to any who had to do a reset under .4 beta ...

I have set up FaceID however it is very hit / miss for accuracy. I am seeing a good bit of FaceID failing and the device switching to password (I have an 8 digit pin). I don't remember FaceID ever being this bad, even in the early days of my 13PM. Anyone else seeing reset or reset/FaceID issues?

Thoughts or recommendations welcome.
No issues on this end with FaceID. 100% reliable for me at least.

📍🪫 Battery % check on iPhone 14/Pro/Pro Max. Is anyone see the battery capacity percentage being dropped? Please report. 📝

I’m still somehow shockingly at 100% on a launch day 14 pro max. I use a 20W charger so I’m not exactly too strict on charging either. I actually think my 13 pro max dropped faster

14pm here , had it since November and mines at 98% battery health. Anyone consider that normal ??

Nope. Unless you are doing something aby-normal with it?

13PM here. Had since not long after launch day and am at 97%.
I almost exclusively charge via 20W Wireless stand or 50W Wireless stand. Seldom charge via cable.
To have you 14PM drop this quick …. Not good IMO.

Well that’s not good . Wonder if it’s iOS related or what ? I usually only charge once a day . Very rarely do I plug it in mid day . I am a somewhat average user I watch slot of YouTube which kills the battery .

My IP12 Pro Max (bought 01/2021) dropped to 99% after 9 months or so. Ever since then it has been degrading faster. Now, after two years it is on 89% and it still gets me through the day, no problem. I've been charging it mostly during nights via MagSafe with the Optimised charging turned on and when connected to CarPlay. Current battery issues are mostly related to iOS16, which has negative impact on many since its launch, so I would not care so much about the actual percentage of battery capacity right now, even when it drops faster then usual if it actually do not degrades directly the user experience.

Also I do have MacBook Pro M1 Pro about 4 months, charging it only when it drops to 20% and unplug it after it reaches 100% and the battery capacity shows now 98% after 40 cycles. However it holds the charge better then when I bought it with earlier version of Ventura. I have treated the battery on my first 17 MBP the same way and the original lasted for 6years and was still able to hold charge for approx 2-3h
