Quite sure this top-justified link to an artist profile is new…wasn’t it still the good ol’ red “View in Apple Music” text at the bottom on beta 1?

Perhaps a(nother) sign of the direction of things to come with Apple Music Classical and the illumination of its relationship with/development alongside the standalone Music app.

Also—what the heck?! Is this little sort-arrow-glyph-thingy new, too, or am I tripping? 🤨

I had that feeling. 16.4 beta 1 was the best first ‘dot-one’ beta in some time, if I do say so. :) Or at least pretty underrated; it laid some very nice groundwork.

Also on a different topic (and from a prior botched post), scrolling in Safari feels far less viscous/resistant on 16.4 beta 2 than on beta 1; the 13 mini’s beautiful little high-dpi screen is looking better than ever; haptic feedback across the system feels a tad more refined, still robust but perhaps just a touch softer. Love these little quality-of-life updates before iOS 17 brings the drought, floods and pestilence to the walled garden 😂🫢

I don’t believe we will be cut off until iOS 17. I think the dev profile will work for all releases of iOS 16. I just think they are getting it ready in 16 so devs can get to 17 when they drop it in June without a profile for 17.
According to the front page article it will start after this update.

"Registered developers are able to download the iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 updates over-the-air after installing the appropriate profile from the Developer Center. Going forward, beta updates will not require a profile and will instead be done directly on device through an Apple ID linked to a developer account."

Is the notification centre stutter still present in this beta? Or what about the messages app reloading bug?

Im not renewing my subscription (i.e if Apple start restricting non payer / free account) for iOS 16 Beta plus Public Beta is available next day.

Most likely will renew it when iOS 17 drops.

This is extremely minor but I’d swear the black shadowy thing behind the letters used to be a lot brighter and hard to read when using a lighter wallpaper in previous betas, but now it looks A LOT better.

Update, for some reason it’s gone back to how it looked in previous versions of iOS. :( (Ugly, intense shadow behind the letters)

Only just showed up on OTA for me.

Downloading IPSW...

All installing ok on a free Dev account 😁
So where are you seeing the IPSW file? Free dev acct shows "No operating system". Did you have both paid and free dev accts and paid is now expired but still allows you to download IPSW files?

Is this what you’re talking about?

Yep that! Specifically on the Lock Screen where it would say Do Not Disturb. Earlier, shortly after updating, it looked a lot better and didn’t have that black shadow so much. Then it went back to how it’s always looked.

Yea I’m only seeing it on light colored wallpapers, it’s not even centered under my icons, gotta be a bug as it stood out today and I hadn’t noticed it before.

I updated iPhone 13 Pro Max using 16.4 B2 ipsw on iTunes (Windows) and iPad Pro 11” 2022 Cellular using beta profile (beta updates set to off). Both updated flawlessly.

So as of now, ipsw method to update externally works well too.

Safari drama! Anyone came across this error? 🤔

This happened to me the other day on Beta 1
Haven’t seen that one on either beta 1 or beta 2 but I’ve been getting some hangs in Safari, specifically with MacRumors, that part of me wants to attribute to increased site traffic or something while another part of me feels it’s the beta…anyone else?

Otherwise this shiz is pretty fresh, yo 🐟
