I just updated from 16.3 to 16.4.1 and Apple took the color out of the sun in the Weather app. Now, everything is white (except the temp range bars).

Cloudy icon: white
Sunny day: white
Partly cloudy: white

No longer do sunny days stand out as bright yellow, but every day looks dreary and milky white. The weather channel did this a few years ago and brought it back because… well, it’s stupid.

Bring back the yellow, Apple. The weather is dreary enough, can’t you leave a little sunshine in the app?View attachment 2186326
My hourly forecast only shows white icons but my day forecast ones are colorful,

I’m on 16.5; white sun glyphs here.

Have either of you got reduced motion or zoomed display on or some other "non default" display setting on? Seems I remember back that one of those caused this issue before. (actually dark mode may be it)

Played with reduced motion (was off, turned on), light mode (was dark), and display zoom (was not), and back again.

No change. Still a milky sun. ☹️

I know this thread isn't specifically for the beta software on the Apple Watch but can't see anything relevant in there so thought I would try in here:

I can't get Siri shortcuts to run on my watch to lock or unlock the front door when my iPhone is locked. They just error with a timeout. They work fine when my phone is unlocked. I do have the shortcut set to work when locked but to no avail.

Just wondering if this is, hopefully, just a bug in this beta or a long-standing bug with Apple? I've only installed the smart lock today so have no baseline.

Thanks.

I don’t think lock commands work even your phone is locked for security reasons. Phone has to be unlocked. I’ve had the same issue trying to use Siri from CarPlay, with the same results.

You might be right. And if so, the error message is absolute crap They work perfectly (well, most of the time) if my phone is unlocked. The two shortcuts (to lock and unlock) only error when the phone is locked. I get a prompt on my watch to "do" the shortcut (I don't get the "do" prompt if the phone is unlocked) then get this error:

Oh, THAT message. I get that all the time with my lock, also. And sometimes, the lock still unlocks.

When I first started getting that message, I assumed that it was because my hub (my 1G HomePod) was about 20 feet away with line of sight obstructions. So, after a while, I moved the HomePod, and it's now about 8 feet away with no obstacles. And it still gives me this error about 50% of the time.

My lock is a first gen Level Lock, so the Bluetooth receiver is inside the lock mechanism, which itself is inside the door. That might explain the hit-or-miss nature of this. Or it just might be the HomeKit is still not a great “product.”

Thanks for confirming. It's just so damn annoying that yet again it would seem that Apple can't get a rudimentary feature working reliably and solidly. I am 3 foot away from it with line of sight and always errors. In my opinion it's something to do with how the Apple Watch talks to the phone with Shortcuts, but I'm no programmer so what would I know.

So tired of my iPad and iPhone asking me permission every time I need to copy paste something into Google Maps.
It seems to be worse under this beta as it is asking every single time.
Not to belittle your issue, but can't you just click on an address and have it open up in Google Maps automatically instead of copy and pasting the address?

It wants to open in Apple Maps, not Google Maps.

I'm in Safari. I am looking at a home, business, or other place with an address. If I select the address, my only map option is Apple Maps. If I use the action menu and select Google Maps, it wants to execute a public post instead of a lookup.

If you know of another option I am all for it. :)
