I went back to 16.4.1 two days ago. My battery started out good on 16.5 beta 2, but got worse everyday.
Facebook installed?

No, weird.
If it was me, I'd trying turning iMessage off and on again.
Then same for FaceTime.
Same here, specially for being hot all the time. I’ll skip all b2 from now on 😂Battery life has been horrible and has tanked today. It’s only 1:28 PM and I’m down to 31% already. iPhone is still running very hot. Had to turn it off to cool down and turn it back on. Looks like Safari and no cellular signal have killed the battery today.

These is nothing that will kill a iPhone battery like not having cellular service. It sits there and tries every few seconds to get reconnected. At least you had Wi-Fi, it would have been even worse if you didn’t have that.Battery life has been horrible and has tanked today. Don't have any of the issues you are reporting... My only issue so far is that google maps seems to refuse to get a GPS lock... Apple Maps functions fine.. I just don't like their routing but it'll have to do for nowB2 is disastrous! Battery’s a joke, front camera isn’t working anymore. What the heck is this beta for? 16.5 b1 was already a problem… honestly considering this is x.5 release a lot of issues
It'll be interesting to see how many vulnerabilities open up because they have to "open a door" in the wall. I'm sure they'll try to lock it all down but there will undoubtedly be something lurking in the code..Annnnnnnnnd incoming, battery drain moans and groans just got worse, and thats on top of a new unstable for the first part iOS being launched 😆😂
Sideloading is the spawn of Satan 😆😂

iOS 17 to Support App Sideloading to Comply With European Regulations
Apple in iOS 17 will for the first time allow iPhone users to download apps hosted outside of its official App Store, according to Bloomberg's...www.macrumors.com

Implementation of 3rd Party App Stores will be interesting. Will they just allow folks to simply download an apk and run it to install? Or make the App stores develop an app of their own (that needs to be approved) to browse their stores, handle payment and then delivery?
The "swim at your own risk" EULA will be great I'm sure.
And how many banking platforms will decide that "You've got a 3rd Party App Store configured" so that's too much of a risk for us so we're not gonna function here..
buckle up folks... it's gonna be a bumpy ride..
Maybe I am old, but I really do not care about sideloading...not planning to allow it on my devices, it really does not bring anything worth to the table for me. I take it that whoever want's to take advantage of it, will be free to do it, but with the risk of security breach. I mean lack of security provided by Apple is a perfect reason for them to wash their hands over this, but really, why all the pressure to allow it in the first place?Sideloading is going to be bad news for a lot of people. Everyone takes the Apple security stuff for granted. Reality will be a good, hard slap in the face.
Update on the battery life today. Today is a new day and I’m shocked and surprised by the amazing battery life. It’s 3:54 PM… still have 74% left with 3+ hours of on-screen time. The only difference is I didn’t use my iPhone as much as I did yesterday.Battery life has been horrible and has tanked today. Larger developers don't want to pay Apple the fees they charge. They see it as a loss of revenue as opposed to gaining access to potentially millions of customers on a reliable delivery system. They make it out as though Apple is harming small developers when in reality the large developers care only about themselves.Maybe I am old, but I really do not care about sideloading...not planning to allow it on my devices, it really does not bring anything worth to the table for me. I've been skipping B2 betas for a looooong time now. They're just almost always crap.Same here, specially for being hot all the time. I’ll skip all b2 from now on 😂

Sigh.....
Plugged in my external SSD to my iPad Pro 11 and couldn't see it in Files.
Tried a different drive. Nada.
Next thought - another beta bug?
Rebooted. No help.
Hard reboot. No help.
Then noticed my cable would charge my iPad either.
So I reinstalled. No help.
Sadly I apparently have an IPP 11 with a dead USB C port. Apple store tomorrow afternoon.
Sigh....![]()
It will be definitely interesting how will sideloading impact Apples rigid approach on customization or other areas. Certainly they will get feedback from the users behavior. I am not very optimistic that they’ll change something dramatically in their approach, but only time will tellSame, but if there becomes a safe version of Winterboard (a platform in the jailbreak community where you can upload icons packs to change there appearance) you can custom design your iPhone icons... I'd be in there like a shot with my own designed icons. (I'm a designer)

I get it but I still believe that just developers, no matter how big, wouldn’t have enough firepower to dictate how Apple should run their on AppStore. I always say, look where the money flows. Certainly when EU or any other big enough political party wants to force something like this, it’s most likely because they smell money somewhere and they want piece of the cake. But let’s not make it a political debate and conspiracy theory. We have enough of those already 😄😄Larger developers don't want to pay Apple the fees they charge.
