I can’t replicate this. It still closes apps for me.On the iPadOS 16.5, you can't even close the apps using cmd-tab then cmd-q anymore. The apps are still in the app switcher. Pathetic!
Did you check the app switcher by swiping up from the bottom?I can’t replicate this. It still closes apps for me.

I've been using that keyboard shortcut on both the iPad and Macs over the years and it'll quit the apps no problem. To be clear, I'm talking about closing app using cmd-tab followed by cmd-q.I thought CMD-q only removed the app from the app switcher (on the iPad vs Mac), not fully closing it out. Can you point to documentation that says otherwise?

Thanks for finding it. I'm sure it's a bug that the app stays in the app switcher window (swiping up from the bottom). I think it worked fine before the latest update.Yep, this says as you say (i.e., I had it wrong) -

Using command W will quit any app that you’re currently in. If I want to do more than one at a time I use the globe key and up arrow to bring up the app switcher and then swipe each one I need to quit.I don't recall it doing so on the iPad with my MKB.
