Gotta say I did not see this coming.

My developer profile is finally gone so it looks like I’m on the bench. Not sure I’ll get in on public when it drops as 16.5 has been perfect for me.

Is it me or they are cracking down on expired developer accounts? I was downloading it and it suddenly stopped. Now I don't have the developer beta selection anymore. I restarted the device and not there. Even toggling between off and public doesn't make the option of developer beta to show up again (as previously happened).
