iPhone running hot! 🥵 🥵

No idea how my 8+, the oldest of all my phones, is still getting dev betas when all my newer phones were forced onto public several releases ago but I'm not gonna complain lol. It updated pretty fast, very minimal heat and the old girl is running very smoothly so far. Fingers crossed this fixes the carplay disconnection bug that's been driving me nuts over the past few weeks.

Is it me or they are cracking down on expired developer accounts? I was downloading it and it suddenly stopped. Now I don't have the developer beta selection anymore. I restarted the device and not there. Even toggling between off and public doesn't make the option of developer beta to show up again (as previously happened).
Meanwhile despite not having a paid developer account I still get offered the option to enable iOS 16 developer beta from Software Update…

Was that from wirelessly or cable charging? My phone got burning hot last night, so much so that it hurt to hold it, and I wasn’t even charging it. That is why I was anxious to move onto 16.6 from 16.5, I usually only get those notifications when I charge using MagSafe.
Decided to fast-charge the iPhone 20W iPhone charge... MagSafe battery pack plugged in on the back of the iPhone. Heavily using Safari with over 450+ Safari Tabs open, was on a 2-hour phone call with a friend. So yeah... I like to abuse my iPhone.

"Hit the Island" is constantly stuttering on my 14 PM. I have not tested whether it's due to the latest app update or iOS 16.6, could someone please check?

Yes you do 😎

Exactly why users like us need an iPhone ultra, I’d like to see some active liquid cooling like those android gaming phones have.

I know those long calls can make things toasty, high ambient temps as well. I was in Palm Springs California with my iPhone 4 once, pulled my phone out to snap some pics, and after just about one minute it wouldn’t let me take any more. It was 117° at the time though 😳🔥🌶️🏜️🥵

Animations definitely seem faster, so far pretty good overall.

Wasn’t going to say anything, but agree. (Can come off as a placebo but this morning after not using my phone for the night, it feels smooth and snappy) I definitely feel like this is always part of a beta cycle.

They get ramped up a notch for a couple of betas. Maybe battery life is monitored then a decision is made to ether keep them as is, or come back down again near to or on the RC. Personally I like them like this but you watch them return in another beta and we feel the betas got sluggish.
