So they can make it even *larger* on the models that are the same size as the iPhone 11? But they won’t support it? This annoys me more than it should but it really does, lol.
To be fair it gets larger at the cost of removing the wifi/data icon and signal bars. This animation exists in iOS 15 and below already, even on the 11.

But either way, I still think all devices should get the percentage. One of my favorite little things in iOS 16.

I finally boarded the beta train and am really liking iOS 16 so far, but I have one minor quibble...

Does anyone else notice that searching from the home screen is a bit slower? I used to be able to start a search and type in for example "tw" and Twitter would instantly appear, but now there's up to a one second delay. One second doesn't sound like much but I definitely notice it.

You'd think searching for local apps should be pretty much instant. I'm wondering if this is an iOS 16 issue or just something affecting me only.

May also be a beta thing.

I noticed the same thing. I also use search to launch most of my apps.

It's getting classier and classier here with f**k and a******. (And you're that riled up about a battery percentage icon?)
It's just the latest assault on those customers that prefer a smaller form factor. We want all of the "Pro Max" features in a phone that can easily slide into your pocket....not an iPhad that should have tip-outs at the corners so you can use it as a coffee table. :D

This I agree with 100%! If all of the options from the “Pro Max” version were included in the “mini” version, I’d be sold.

But its so damned childish. No one expects the same features on a compact economy car as a big luxury car. Same for phones. You get what you pay for…

...and what the mini market has been asking for (as opposed to the SE market) is the same features in a small form factor.

There's zero reason that they couldn't offer this. They put the better camera in the Pro Max so they can sell the larger phones - higher revenue per sale.

Edit: The mini market isn't looking for a cheap iPhone - they're looking for a small one with the same features.

The SE can be for the cheap seats.

Edit2: The mini "experiment" that Apple did didn't actually give us what we wanted - we use my fiancee's 13PM to take photos when we're together. The camera in the mini is OK, but not in the same ballpark as the 13PM.

So, those that love their larger phones, looking at the mini sales and saying "See, it's a small market segment" - no, we never got what we wanted. Feature parity.

To be frank I don't even know why the percentage number is needed. The little bar graph tells you everything you need to know. If you need the exact percentage for whatever reason, just drag down on the top right corner, there it is.

Should be an option to toggle so that it displays the battery number or an icon.

That's why Baskin-Robbins has 31 flavors.
