So it looks like smart albums in Photos on macOS don’t show on iOS still…sigh

Edited for typo.

I just discovered the add to calendar feature in the stocks app. It's a great convenience to place events (earnings calls, etc) associated with specific stocks onto your calendar. I used to do this manually as a reminder so this is much more convenient. So far it works great in iOS but it doesn't work in Ventura (no option to allow stocks app to write to calendar)

Would you mind sharing how that is done? I see the share sheet button but all that seems to do is copy a link to the stock symbol.

When there is an upcoming event for a stock a clickable link will show along with a description of the event (ie earnings call) It will ask for permission to write to your calendar the first time you use it.

Weather lockscreen works now as it should. Always showed the same clouds and the widget beneath said -12 degree, except it‘s 40 degree celsius here lol. Widget works now as expected

You can have a seperate lockscreen and homescreen lockscreen. If you tap customize beneath the homescreen one this new screen appears. You can enable a blur effect

New lockscreen to homescreen swipe animation for the weather lockscreen. I think they use a dynamic animation here, my lockscreen shows some clouds. When I swipe to the homescreen those clouds „fly out“ with a 3D effect. I can imagine if you see some raindrops there is a different animation

Are we assuming that the Weather lock screen background is gonna be updated during the beta cycle? It currently just shows the background weather effect in the Weather app, where most of the weather effects are on the top third of the screen so as to not be obscured by weather information in the app.

But information presentation is the exact opposite on the lock screen, with the time and widgets on the top third, so the Weather background pretty much shows nothing interesting in the space where you'd want it to showcase itself.

When you long-press on a word on a web page in beta 1, it used to come up with a ”search web” option instead of having to select “lookup” then “search web”. Does anyone know if there’s a way to add it back or is it gone completely?

I doubt anyone here knows how to "add it back". Too early to say if it is gone for good or just one of those things that crop up during these summer betas.

I would report its absence as a bug and/or a suggestion in the Feedback app.
