Since when could you do calculations right within search from the HS? Is this new or have I just never known?

Goodness.. I can’t believe I’ve never know lol. That’s one of those “Little things” just not iOS16.
Haha my boss sent me a message last week asking if I knew that you could hold the spacebar down to drag the cursor around and I was like …yes lol. Turns out he’d been using an iPhone for several years and had no idea; he’d been trying to tap in between individual letters in words to get the cursor just where he wanted it or would delete whole words! 😆

It easy for little things to slip through the cracks even for technically inclined folks using their devices all the time.

Apple is particularly bad at publicizing these less exciting features. Sometimes they’ll get a 5 second mention during a keynote. Other times they get a mention only on the big feature page at the end of each reveal. Sometimes they get no mention at all or only during Developer sessions not open to the general public. Hence this thread!

Our goal is to highlight as many of these things as possible. We want people to have “Aha moments” like you just did, even for older (but obscure) features!

Dang - didn't these threads used to be 20, 30, 40 pages long within just a few days?
I remember a few releases ago Apple started putting up a whole page that details just about every little feature. Prior to that, they only talked about the major features.

Everyone piled into the thread here, because it took them too long to post this one.

No.

This thread is designed to discuss iOS/iPadOS features that Apple did not spend much or any time on during the keynote at WWDC.

The other thread you are referring to is to discuss specifics of a particular beta release, e.g., issues, concerns, workarounds, etc. That distinction has held for the most part.

Any changes to the photo picker? Need better options like sorting albums, maybe an album for the last edited or last viewed photos? Would make posting on social media a lot easier

Lol. I know what they're meant to be for, but thanks for being condescending I guess? Everyone was posting the little things in there way before this thread was made. That's why it's quiet here. That thread is full of them, just leaf through.

Considering this forum is reliant on users to create threads. As no one else created it, I did this time.

Your comment about the delay in this thread being created is a bit condescending in itself, so it’s fair play that someone was condescending to you.

This thread will pick up. The iOS 15 one took a bit of time too.

Landscape Face ID only on 12 and above ? Can’t see it working only my 11.

I've noticed that the 'Duplicate Photo' option has moved up to the 'Edit' button at the top as opposed to being among the list of other options in the Share Sheet.

Yup! Less confusing... That dropdown menu with all the tools is also new, I think

I think so? Or was it on the bottom after selecting ‘Edit’? Either way, works for me.
I believe there are two different ones with the same icon, but I’m not really sure. Anyway, it was a nice change and we were probably just used to the more complicated design 😆
