Guys and girls, as advised by Craig F himself, if a couple of hard restarts doesn't fix a minor issue/bug your having, then if possible, on a Mac reinstall the iOS and 90% of the time most little issues sort themselves out. WiFi connectivity, over heating, blah blah, stop being a pain for you.

DON'T just sit and wait for beta 3 to arrive thinking your issue is wide spread enough or a common bug thats on Apples radar. Because you will probably be disappointed come B3 when it's not fixed with another poor OTA update on top of another (potentially).

Use the IPSW file for your phone to reinstall and get a clean install on your phone, it can make a difference and what Apple (Craig) advises 👍🏼

(Method. No data is lost. Always encrypt back up regardless to Mac. Use Finder + option button + check for update button = manually selecting the beta you're on, IPSW file for a reinstall. Takes 10mins.)

This really can make a difference and stop any suffering or annoyance until the next beta. If your bug is still present, good chance then it is a bug that will be fixed in the beta cycle, but it was worth 10 minuets if it did go.
👋 hi, question about encrypt backup and reinstalling os using a Mac.

1)if the backup is put back into the phone, will it be worth doing it compared to fresh install with no data backup and start from scratch(redownloading apps and setting up from zero)? I heard that the backed up data can still contain bugs.

2)how does it differ from the process which using iCloud backup on device and erase data and setting on the device itself then restore from iCloud backup?

3)is it true backup file using iCloud backup contains less bugs in it compared to backup data file done using mac?

Thanks in advance.

1) restore wipes and reinstalls the iOS and then all your backed up apps, so it’s great to refresh your phone like that - I do it after the end of ever beta cycle.

I’d only set up as new etc etc if I knew I had a buggy back up which I’d tested for sure by setting up as a new phone with no back up and seeing the bug go away.

2) encrypted back up saves all your passwords and security data or banking apps data. So when you restore, you don’t have to the ball ache of having to reassign banking apps with your phone. You can just literally, restore and go!

3) not true. If anything I’ve stopped using iCloud back ups as I had a buggy back up with that method and I find it faster and easier using the tethered way on my Mac anyway.

In short, I love the encrypted back up restores. Makes my life so much easier with wallet app and banking.

Ah yes, the wallet app is another reason why I stopped doing setting up as new iPhone. I love the feeling of the setting up as a new phone and would love to do that with each OS upgrade but takes too much effort.
Thank you so much, I’ll start doing restore wipe with reinstall using encrypted backup!
