iOS 16 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

2 related and1 unrelated things to note here:

-this is a beta and a new feature. When it doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to, it may be that it’s simply not working properly. You should report this.

-Be careful relying on a beta Heath app feature

-I would go back and edit the screenshot of your medication type. No one here needs to know that.

IPad Pro 11 2020
Safari / Maps

Doing some early stage house hunting in Safari. I am finding when I find a property I like, highlighting the address and using the popup menu to go to Maps, the view that comes up shoves the actual address off the right edge of the screen. Doing this 100%. Might have something to do with the zoom level.

See attached for example.

Is it just me or the farther and farther we progress in iOS, the more and more it appears that to in order for your iDevice to operate properly both a link to Apple and the iCloud must also work properly? Apple appears to be building a required dependency.

Not sure I follow you.... depending upon how you are trying to use the device it only makes sense that those 2 services should be working properly.

Example - my 13 ProMax or iPad Pro 11 is working great.
Then something stops working correctly. Mail not updating timely, Messages that vanish off screen after send, apps that start running slow, Safari tab refresh that crawls, etc ..... It generally happens in groups - not just a specific app only.

When I try a relaunch of the app, or a reboot of the device, sometimes it helps. Check of Apple Services show all green. Doesn't matter it it is WiFi, 5G, LTE. Check of up/down speeds and other shows all is well. Then suddenly it all starts running fine.

If I have an app that runs fine in airplane mode I never see this. It has been happening more often in 15 as it matured. Too soon to say about 16 but am seeing some of the same. It is almost like the device has to do an extracurricular check (phone home) before running. Didn't see this with 14.

Clear as mud I'm sure.

You mean you are having sporadic issues with a beta version of the OS?

I am not sure if you are aware of some third party apps like Pillow and AutoSleep which auto detect your sleep sessions outside the scheduled sleep sessions and record them in Health app and also add within the apps themselves.

It is that functionality which I was hoping shows up on the native sleep app of ios / watchOS.

I am aware, these have never worked properly for me.

Alternatively, you can go to Settings/Wallpaper and pick one for your homescreen from there.

Hi, do you know if we can use shortcut automation to randomly hangs wallpaper for lock screen/Home Screen and apply the new widget on that?
I don’t like how the Lock Screen widget only let us choose 50 photos and no option to do the same for Home Screen

Unfortunately, no. Who knows what for what reason though. I have a shortcut that I refuse to get rid of that sets my Lock Screen to one of my photos, then the shortcut will blur it and set it for my home screen. It’ll then also save the image to my iCloud so my iPad can run a shortcut that sets that same wallpaper.

I wish I could use the depth effect and widgets, but I like my matching wallpapers better.

Yes me too. If we use widgets we can’t use depth effect..Home Screen wallpaper can’t be shuffled.. do you know where I can request this? I went on feedback page but couldn’t find where to go

I don't. You may have better luck looking up Federico Vitticci on Twitter. He has a ton of stuff on Shortcuts.
