Couldn’t agree more. Pretty limited now. Should improve tremendously.

And this is when it will really get fun.

But it won’t be available at iOS 16 launch, unfortunately.

Now that it’s been almost a half of a day, how is the battery drain compared to the last beta?

13 Pro Max

Phone
- So far I have not found any missed calls however I have had a couple now that rang silent.
I suspect it is the same as in B3 - changes in iOS16 are causing issues with Hiya spam blocker.

Messages - all but one contact is silent when I receive an iMessage or SMS/MMS on Messages.

All other apps so far are working - knock on real wood ;)

Gotta say it’s been smooth sailing since installation. Nothing has jumped out and grabbed me as far as changes but as someone else mentioned the keyboard just seems to feel better.

Please let this be true. I’m so tired of the lagging and delayed autocorrection screening everything I type up into a complete mess.

The wallpaper UI still makes no freaking sense to me.

If I tap on „customize“ on the left, I expect it to change the lockscreen, if I tap on „customize“ on the right, I expect it to change my Home Screen wallpaper.

However, when I tap on the one on the right and I pick customize existing one, it shows me three circles at the bottom with customizations of my LOCKSCREEN wallpaper and only the last one is about my actual HOME SCREEN wallpaper.

It’s even worse when I tap „add new wallpaper“ on the right, then it suddenly wants to add a new lockscreen and Home Screen wallpaper even though I tapped „customize“ on the right (home screen)???

The „color“ and „gradient“ option doesn’t make much sense to me either. It just turns my HOME SCREEN wallpaper into a blurry vomit green version of the LOCK SCREEN wallpaper

Also, you still cannot pick a photo from the Apple Wallpaper for your Home Screen. Somehow that option only exists when u customize the lockscreen 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

And what is the point of the additional „add new wallpaper“ option if the „add new wallpaper“ option within both customize options (left or right) seems to do the same thing.

Like I said. I would expect the customize on the left to only effect my lockscreen and the customize on the right, to only effect my Home Screen while the „add new wallpaper“ option shouldn’t exist or be renamed to make it clear that it changes both

You can use an Apple stock wallpaper on the homescreen. I don’t know why I’ve seen so many people having an issue worn this. Just go into settings > wallpaper. It’s literally right there! You have to use the “add new wallpaper” option to bring it up.

13 ProMax (b4) - AW7 (not beta)

Notifications since moving to B4 are not coming through from the 13PM to AW7.
I am getting notifications from a few apps but nothing from Messages, Mail, or Calendar - basically any core app.
Have verified Notification settings for both devices.

I guess it’s because I don’t have the photo in my gallery anymore?

But then it also changes the lockscreen. I don’t want to change my lockscreen wallpaper as well.

Little confused about your experience. Other than the preview not refreshing straight away, it seems to work okay? I think "add new wallpaper" is just their way of saying "add new theme". Wording is a little confusing, think they need to be clearer about what "wallpaper" means now.

I set up a new Lock Screen with dummy images just to make sure.

I don’t know, with my logic it should work this way, maybe I am overthinking it:

„Customise“ on the left (Lockscreen):

„change existing wallpaper“
Here I should be able to still pick a different image for my lockscreen (only) from the Apple Wallpaper gallery, however you can‘t, you can only use a photo from your own Photo Gallery now.

„Add new wallpaper“
should only add a new LOCKSCREEN wallpaper, since I am in „customise“ on the left. Why does it suddenly have an impact on my Home Screen as well?

Customise“ on the right (Home Screen):

change existing wallpaper“
Here it should only give me options related to the Home Screen. However, the circles at the bottom for (color), (gradiant) are suddenly based on my lockscreen, not the Home Screen wallpaper. You can also not pick a wallpaper from the Apple Gallery, only from your own Photos.

Add new wallpaper“
Should give me the option to change my Home Screen ONLY, however, it also impacts my lockscreen, even though I picked „customise“ on the right.

Add new Wallpaper“

This one should be renamed to „Add new Theme“ like you said and should indeed change both (Lockscreen & Home Screen).

Right now we have three buttons, in three different positions, doing the exact same thing 🤷🏼‍♂️ the two „customise“ buttons imply to me that if I tap on them, I only change things related to either the Lock or the Home Screen but right now it seems to be a mix of both

Ah I see what you mean. I think if the "customise" button just went straight into the "customise current wallpaper" section, without giving the two options, it would make a bit more sense. As you said, we already have the "add new wallpaper" button underneath so having that as an option under each "customise" seems a bit redundant.

"Add new" does sound a bit like adding a new picture, when what you actually want to do is customise what's there and just update the picture. So I can definitely see people pressing add new home screen and wondering why their lock screen changed lol.

I see that non landscape apps like the roomba app on the ipad now show in landscape. This was my big pain with using these apps and the keyboard. App developers not understanding the ipad landscape.

It works fine for me?
You have a black wallpaper so.. I have a picture and it shows behind the safari tabs. I don’t see what the problem is

It’s not a “problem” buddy! Just to be clear.

The transition animation isn’t smooth. Watch the back ground from blurred apps just flick off or switch to safari’s background - clunky. Never noticed it before B4, wasn’t like that. Safari isnt right. It’s not even loading properly in multitasking.

Also it’s got nothing to do with my wallpaper choices it’s the background activation for safari when opening the app.

This is another video for safari not behaving right in multitasking. Not in relation to the original post.

I’ve had quite a few issues with frequently visited sites in Safari for the last two years or so. In B4, many more sites have appeared (cool!) but there’s a definite bug that doesn’t allow you to delete any of them.

You delete, and then either don’t go, or they temporarily disappear before returning. The reading list is also bugged and items don’t delete.

Will report!
