You're sure you're not also moving the phone? My 13 Pro on the most recent beta isn't doing this.
Yeah it only happens when I pick up the phone. But for some reason I don’t remember it doing that before. When I pick up my iPad Pro the screen doesn’t wake. I have to tap it to wake it up.

I keep getting this when I try to do what you said. When I click install it says installation failed.

Install Xcode 14 beta and it will fix the issue.

I don’t think you need to go that far. If you download the latest beta Xcode, then unpack (unzip). You need one file - MobileDevice.Pkg
Double click on that and install.
Then hold Option key and click Update, select your desired IPSW file and update your iOS device.
Or if you PM me……

Installed this new public beta on my daily driver 12 Pro. So far so good, though I gotta say I’m not a fan of the noticeably slower fade-in animation of waking up the screen. Guess it won’t really be an issue in a couple months with the 14 Pro.

Something I haven’t been paying attention to until now… are you guys who use a MagSafe wireless charger getting the MagSafe automation ring on your screen when putting onto charger?

Yep, tested with two different pucks. Animation both times. This is with the phone locked.

I also just dropped it on while composing this message and the icon in the status bar changed to green with the bolt but no animation. Seems to be only if the screen is locked.

After installing beta 5, I get a notification of a new voicemail that cannot be removed. The voicemail service is generally not active for me. Any idea how I can remove it? Or wait for the next beta…

Hi,

Wanted to check if anyone else is also seeing a similar issue

When I add a custom lock-screen wallpaper from my photo library and receive a call from a unknown caller (not in my address book), the number overlaps with widgets and kinda hard to pick up.

Don't see the same thing when I use stock wallpapers provided in IOS 16 ..

Kindly share your thoughts.

thx.

Why hasn’t this addressed the horrible keyboard lag of iOS 15 and these betas? Even if I turn off predictive text, it still doesn’t keep up with the speed I type anymore. And sometimes it outright rejects what you mean to type. I hit the letter t t t t over and over today and it just kept inserting r. I’ll backspace out entire words, type what I want, and as soon as I hit space, autocorrect puts it right back to what I had just changed. Sometimes it also changes the verb or the word before the last word I just typed. Typing has literally become a chore and I can’t keep up in convos or live texting because I have to keep backspacing and changing everything like I’ve never had to do. It is DRIVING ME CRAZY!

You don't but I didn't have time to explain all that and it's easier to just install Xcode since it's already downloaded.

BTW, I wasn't the one asking.

Because it require new mobile support files to load iOS 16. But sometimes the direct download method won't work.

The workaround is to get xcode 14 beta. which does not require developer accounts.

How do I get notification centre to show on iOS 16 Lock Screen without having to pull up on the screen ? I keep missing notifications.

Am I the only one that finds the new UI of the web player (in safari) a little annoying? It doesn’t really provide visible touch areas anymore. The volume slider for example is too close to the top in landscape mode and I keep sliding in the lockscreen (Notification Center?) by mistake when I try to move the volume slider. Makes me wanna scream

Noticed this as well on my 13 Pro.
Not really an issue but something I noticed shortly after jumping on the beta. I think we get used to it after a couple of days… probably it will changed again during the beta process.

I think the battery indicator is ok.
Never have seen before such a lot of discussion about such a basic and in some way boring feature :D
But ok: 5 years x Apple
causes some hype everytime.

It could look better but it works and it’s fine. Probably we see some further refinements during the iOS 16 beta process. When somebody doesn’t like it, it’s so simple to turn it off.

way to early to judge it so shortly after updating

Really, so my eyes and battery life duration is playing tricks with me...okay then.

Look i'm hoping your right and i have misjudged it and it does level out and start performing well but its just not doing well so far for me, the new battery percentage doesn't help either. I could understand if it was beta 2 or 3 but its beta 5.
I'm not normally complaining about battery life on 5th version of a beta as by then its usually okay and i've been riding beta trains since iOS 6.
