Had this happen twice this morning.
On a call using the speaker. Screen times out and goes dark. When I tap on the screen to wake it up, instead of going to the call screen, it went to the lock screen. I had to unlock and swipe up to get to my call screen.

Reported via Feedback.

depth effect is disabled in this beta or not changeable at least, right?

any news for position of notifications?

Small change, not a fan: wireless CarPlay no longer shows the battery status.

UPDATE: Looked at this more closely this morning, and it's definitely a bug: The battery icon appears to be behind the top sidebar app icon. So I think it'll be back.
I reported via Feedback as well.

Hi,

Wanted to check if anyone else is also seeing a similar issue

When I add a custom lock-screen wallpaper from my photo library and receive a call from a unknown caller (not in my address book), the number overlaps with widgets and kinda hard to pick up.

Don't see the same thing when I use stock wallpapers provided in IOS 16 ..

Kindly share your thoughts.

thx.
I think this is a known issue. Earlier in the thread. It was mentioned this happens when Depth Effect is enabled.
I usually use a solid black wallpaper and have this issue. I can't seem to disable Depth Effect.

How to try this feature.

Select a photo in your Photos app, preferably one with a person or other object that is distinct from the background. Press and hold your finger on the person or object. You should see a shimmer pass over the person or object. Release your finger and a dialog should appear with “Copy” and “Share”. From there you can treat it as any other photo. Alternatively, once you see the shimmer, you can drag the separated image into another app, like Messages.

Hope that helps.

Apple seems to have disabled the feature in Lockscreens where the sky in a landscape photo fades in more slowly than the foreground portion does. Too bad…great effect.

In Settings-->Notifications and at the top, 'Display As', choose List or Stack.
It was already Stack by default. Tried list and no difference.

Am I crazy ? This seems crazy bad. I can never tell there's new notifications at all unless I manually pull up. Is there some setting I have wrong ?

I like that they're at the bottom closer to my finger but it's barely using the spaces and keeping them hidden and that's way worse.

See the pics I've attached. So first one is how Lock Screen looks always. Second one is when I pull up and then it shows proper Notification Centre. Assuming it uploads and show them on the order I clicked on them to upload.

Has anyone come across the inability to add cards to Apple Pay? I have restored twice (both from a Mac backup and an iCloud backup) and it happens on both of the newest betas.

I initially thought there was no difference as well. Turns out the difference seems to be only when waking your device for the first time since getting new notifications. If you have it set to list and you receive new notifications and wake the device, the new ones appear as a list, but after that first wake they all go into a stack. Cycle repeats the next time you get new notifications. This behavior was observed on DB4/PB2. I haven't tested it on DB5/PB3.

I had this issue many betas ago back in 15.x series and the only thing that would finally fix it was a factory reset. Didn’t want to do that but it was driving me nuts so went ahead. Maybe your issue is not the exact same and the next beta will fix it, who knows? Just sharing my experience. Good luck.

Thanks. Force restart seems to have worked for now.

And Apple Maps on Apple Watch with beta 5 doesn’t know where I’m at! (No map is drawn on the watch)

Anyone else notice this.

I have a map when I open Apple Maps on the watch running the latest beta.
Doing what it should.
Think it’s the first I’ve opened maps in years on the watch.
