Our “expecting” an update does not equate to Apple’s obligation to deliver one. For all we know, they’re done until WWDC. This is their product, not ours.
Do you realize how competitive things are in the OS development world right now? Apple had to pay retention bonuses of up to $180,000 (US) last year to keep people. Money it has aplenty; people are harder to find and keep.
Ah… this explains why 16.4 beta 1 delayed. 😮

At this point I'm betting on next week for 16.4 beta 1. I just hope they roll out the rest of this 16.3.1 bore before the end of this week so that we may finally move the hell on.
I am more fascinated than panicked. These little delays come along every few years. We'll likely never learn why or whether this was simply a programmed in "pause" to allow them to get all hands on deck to finish off RealityOS.

iphone still on 16.2. just updated home pods and apple tv to 16.3.1 and restarted all devices. Siri homekit commands already working better the first time without all the unnecessary verbose feedback.
Well…the original laptop is now coming tomorrow apparently…they are blaming snow in Memphis? For a one week delay??

You clearly have not yet experienced snow in the South! Even seasoned northern drivers lose their winter driving skills. And they’ve never heard of road salt.
But was it really snowy in Memphis?? For a week?? And why does it say my package left the facility there at 12:44 pm yesterday and no update yet? I guess another day of working in the house waiting on a FedEx delivery that will probably not show up today.

To me, this tells me the 16.3.1 releases for HomePods & Apple TV was for something Different than the HomeKit mess.. Otherwise we'd have seen iOS 16.3.1 released, no?

My bet is that 16.3.1 is all about the AppleTV & HomePods, and Apple has moved onto 16.4
