Found a very interesting article on why iOS 16.4 Beta 1 has not been released. Worth reading! Check it out.

Seeing delays like this always gives hope that they’re actually taking their time to get things right. Seems reasonable since the 17 beta will take the stage in a couple of months and they’d probably like the last version(s) of 16 to be as clean/stable as possible.

Oh and Monday 16.3.1 and Tuesday 16.4b1.

Wish it was like this. I’ve said this before but would love to see this structure:

IOS 17 release
• 17.1 bug fixes
• 17.2 bug fixes
IOS 17.3 new features
• 17.4 bug fixes
• 17.5 bug fixes
• 17.6 bug fixes and a solid 95% bug free iOS across the board to be left on before the next operating system.

If they stick us with this terrible 16.3 until Spring they are insane, and if true that means they aren’t even working on iOS. I can’t believe poor Jim hasn’t been given any help yet.

Hope not. Anyway I am giving a prediction here. looking to last year, we are perfectly in line with 15.3.1 that happened 10 feb 2022. So Monday will be the day for 16.3.1. But, maybe this year will also follow up 16.4 beta, who knows?

People have been anticipating Apple making an AR/VR type of headset for years now, with the same rumors every year about some new Apple OS name. If & when Apple does release xrOS (or whatever it’s called), it won’t be in a “point four” release. It’ll be in something like iOS 17, and there won’t be much reference to its code until WWDC23 this Summer.

There’s been some sites reporting that they’re seeing traffic from devices running 16.4, but I haven’t seen anyone claim they’ve seen traffic from devices on 16.3.1.

Didn’t Apple also claim at some point they’d be integrating Primephonic’s features into iOS 16, too? I think the Home Kit mess is slowing them down more than anything.

If a headset is announced in the Spring, they’re going to need developers to make apps work with it. That takes time, and lines up with including it with iOS 17, leaving a Spring announcement (if it happens) to be more of a “sneak peek”.

It’s going to happen this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple has a developer internally creating VR apps/games. Rest assured, the safest bet is Spring
Event or WWDC. Remember the CarPlay Dashboard last year? No one was expecting that. Maybe that's why iOS 16.4 has not been released at all.

Tim Cook has been dropping hints here and there.

I think everyone is expecting the VR-related stuff this year anyways, it's no more a secret to anyone. I would say delays until they get Apple Pay Later ready, as well as the revised Home architecture is much more likely to be the cause for the delay, rather than hiding some references (which have leaked already).

Hopefully we will get the betas this week! :) It's been quite a while.

Oh, I’m not saying we won’t see this stuff this year, I’m just saying it won’t be coming in iOS 16.anything

This one musta got past you. 😁.

Also like to point out it’s the articles like this that lend to the fact Apple is watching us all! Hahaha!

Maybe 16.4 b1 will have some code referencing Satellite messaging while there's an ongoing alien invasion? That, along with the Primephonic Apple Classical integration are shaping up to be quite a nice update. Considering the alien invasion and all.

Maybe they can make it so that it connects easier and we can call and text anyone just like over regular cell service? Will come in handy once the cell towers are destroyed, I just hope they fix the battery drain cause it’s gonna be hard enough keeping our phones charged during an Alien invasion without this excessive battery drain.

16.4 Beta makes more sense Monday as that is 3 weeks from Jan 23rd when 16.3 was released. It will still be longest gap in beta seeding in a long time as it will be 26 days since RC to devs/PBtesters on Jan 18th.
It’s hard to believe we have survived this long without seeing any type of Beta. I really hope Apple pulls the trigger next week. March is upon us soon.

I was wondering. What are the chances of Apple dropping iOS beta 1 during 🏈 SuperBowl Half-Time tomorrow? 🤨
OOhhh Maybe that's why Biden isn't doing the Superbowl Sunday pregame interview. Tim Cook is doing it instead and announcing iOS 16.4 beta! And will push the release button on national TV!

PS: Will you buy me an iPhone if that happens? :)

He’s managing the invasion, although these Aliens must not have thought they needed any defensive capabilities because they keep getting shot down 😂.

So maybe we have time before 16.4 drops on Tuesday.
