So all freeloaders need to either flash ipsw of dev 16.4 beta 2 or wait for public beta via settings app?

I suspect you are being tongue in cheek here. But for any who might try this, I doubt flashing the IPSW will work. I suspect that there is a signing / validation process being used. If you don’t have the right account type (a paid developer account) you will not be able to validate the software as part of the installation process. So it likely wouldn’t even install.

Time will tell

From what it sounds like, you would just be prompted to sign in (with your dev account), probably during the initial setup after installing. I'm curious what verbiage will be used to tell people they need to log in with a valid dev account.

Today is the day. It has to be. It's going to be..

It would be nice if we get a new iOS 16.4 Beta 2 today. Let's get it!!! 🍀
It's possible that they could have beta 2 queued up and ready to go given the long wait period we endured for beta 1... I could see them releasing today and getting back on the Tuesday schedule. Also I'm sure they are crunched for time with the spring event coming up and 16.4 having several new features/changes, it may require a little more testing.

Since when are betas released on a particular day? :p
Even if 16.4 possesses new features/changes at best you might see a new iPad possibly, but this time of year is not really orientated to iPhones or iPads, rather Macs more so, maybe a new display.

So what are we supposed to do this week? 🥴

I’d say just be patient, but because after waiting months for them to fix the square notification bug, and they finally dropped 16.4 and it made it worse, we whine, complain, bellyache, and annoy people. ☺️

I’m going to once again report it to them, hopefully it’s fixed in beta 2 but I have a feeling it’s gonna persist until iOS 17. I hope I’m wrong.

No such thing. The word Patient and Speculation does not go well together. It's like eating a Cheeseburger without the beef patty. Let me know what that tastes like. 🍔

Beta 1 just came out on Thursday and Monday was a holiday, I wouldn’t expect it until next Tuesday at the earliest. Only been one full business day since beta 1.
Monday wasn't really a holiday. But with that said, I believe Thursday at earliest or Tuesday may be valid speculation.

Let’s put a pin in your thinking here. I’d like to hear from some of the other posters who do not have paid accounts and see what their experience is when the next beta drops.

Since installing 16.4b1, I've been prompted twice to update/confirm my Account Security Settings. When I select Continue, it just brings me to the Settings App and then kinda goes to the background (? Hard to describe) and then another overlayed page comes in prompting me for my Passcode. Then all seems well.

It's possible this could be part of the confirmation that I'm logging in with my Dev Account?
I agree, we'll soon find out I'm sure.

That was my experience and impression too.
