  1. Interactive Widgets. So not just launching the associated app, but buttons that could make live changes to the widget and app without leaving the home screen. (Think: being able to check off Reminders or Things items for instance). In effect, allowing widgets to become partial screen apps for simpler functions that don't involve complexity or require the entire screen.
  2. Customizable Folder Icons So, for example, my games folder could have a neat arcade or games icon instead of a bunch of indiscernible icons of the games inside. Folder widgets would be great if – using the games example – it's a category I'd like to have more prominence than 1/16th of my homescreen.
  3. Desktop Toys. Think of these as the interactive widgets on steroids. An example could be a Tamagotchi. An animated pet cat that lives on your home screen. It's silly and whimsical and not necessary, but it's essentially the ability for a widget to be fully interactible and animated. It would likely eat a lot of battery, but only if you choose to use this type of thing.
  4. An Apple Search Engine and Revamped Siri that uses it. This is a biggie. I don't expect them to be as good as Google from 10 years ago right off the bat, but that's a realistic goal in the medium term. And good enough start for many. Then try to catch up eventually if, they can. That's a billion dollar business they could aspire to outside of cars.
  5. Photo, Meme, and Video creator tools (iLife updated). Think of these as social network agnostic social media tools. Apple has a history of great creator tools (think GarageBand and iMovie... or even MacPaint going further back) . Apple has been terrible at social networks but social networks are not going away.(Regardless of the hot social network of the moment Instagram, Tik Tok, Vine, YouTube, FaceBook, people need to make content. Apple *could* actually be good at the stuff that makes the content to go onto social networks. A social platform agnostic creative tool. What if the app you used to make the new stupid meme image with text overlay was a no brainer and one of the ones that just comes with your device.

Aside from the Notification Center bugs, iOS 16.3 has been really solid on my 14 PM. Battery life has also been really good.

Did you mean to post this in the iOS 17 speculation thread?

Is this speculation or a wish list?

Thought to chime in since we are very far along the iOS 16 cycle now. I went from a 13 Pro Max to a 14 Pro Max. I was going to stick with my 13 Pro max, it was a beast in battery life among other things but was offered a sweet carrier switch deal. After switching to the 14 Pro Max, and after all the iOS 16 updates thus far, my battery life seems to still be be 25-30% less than I was getting on my 13 Pro Max. Have done multiple restores via IPSW, set up as new, tweaked settings etc. and waiting on updates in hopes that would address it. It has gotten better since launch, But I’m still finding my self looking for a charger around dinner time, where my 13 Pro max would be hovering around 30% or more by then. Is it safe to assume that battery life is as good as it gets with the 14 series of phones and maybe just accept they aren’t as power efficient as last years models?

Considering the latest beta is a B build it looks like we will have a RC candidate next week (20-22 March) and then the public release for all on 27-28 March.

No need for REAL developer account……yet

Shows up with dev profile.
Sigh…I and a lot of illegitimate others will really miss the profile system.

I’m seeing excessive battery drain on my Apple Watch 8 after the latest beta update, even after a hard reboot.
Seems to be acting up on my Series 6 as well.

I think having more betas is reassuring. :D
That letter indicates the number of builds for the day. A lower letter might sound like there’s less issues, but a higher letter, IMO, indicates an issue that WAS addressed before shipping it out. There could also still be a number of other issues missed. Who knows! The build number is irrelevant.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m ready for iOS 16.4 RC to hit next week. It is time! Last final major update before iOS 17 kicks off in June.
Giving up already? What negatives is there if Apple fixes more bugs for another week? Besides if it comes out early April, then you'll see another beta cycle like previous years thru to WWDC 2023. ;)

Last year iOS 15 arrived up to .7 so I guess iOS 16 will do the same, will it fix all the bugs it has? Hmmm 😂
