You know that they can run two beta cycles in parallel? They did it with iOS 15 last year, where 15.6 and 15.7 were beta tested along with iOS 16.
Right, but the iOS 16 beta cycle at that point will be just the Guinea Pigs for any potential bug fixes that are needed. Most efforts in development will be going towards iOS 17. But yes, I’m well aware of how the beta testing process works.

I’m on public beta not dev
Oh. Gotcha. I'm not technically (;)) a dev, but it still installed for me. Although the profile got deleted a while back. So maybe try installing that and giving it a go if you feel like it? So far really nice n' stable overall, and wifi performance on my 13 mini seems better thus far. Probably a lot of small changes and updates not necessarily perceptible even to the discerning end-user, since it is 11 builds ahead of beta 1, but perhaps there are some more significant changes I'm just not aware of yet.

With the way they released 16.4.1 so early could we possibly see 16.5 super early? or will there be 4-5 betas?

Why would the release of what seems to mostly have been a security update have any impact on the number of betas on a succeeding release?

Apple knows exactly the number of betas it intends for 16.5 and will only deviate from that under the most exigent circumstances.
