Right, but the iOS 16 beta cycle at that point will be just the Guinea Pigs for any potential bug fixes that are needed. Most efforts in development will be going towards iOS 17. But yes, I’m well aware of how the beta testing process works.

Edit: And always, right on cue, the universe reminds us not to fret. Right after I made this post it showed up even though it shows the public beta option only on the iPhone.

I just went to software update and I’m still on public beta 1 so hopefully in 50 min it will be or 10am tomorrow PST

Oh. Gotcha. I'm not technically (
) a dev, but it still installed for me. Although the profile got deleted a while back. So maybe try installing that and giving it a go if you feel like it? So far really nice n' stable overall, and wifi performance on my 13 mini seems better thus far. Probably a lot of small changes and updates not necessarily perceptible even to the discerning end-user, since it is 11 builds ahead of beta 1, but perhaps there are some more significant changes I'm just not aware of yet.

Oh, yeah. That's what I did, actually.
Doesn’t work for me. I have a dev profile and try turning beta off, airplane mode on and off, reboot device… nothing works. It’s never worked for me since Apple changed the method.

I tried everything but once I flicked the public beta option on and off, the dev beta popped up. 😳🥳

Why would the release of what seems to mostly have been a security update have any impact on the number of betas on a succeeding release?
Apple knows exactly the number of betas it intends for 16.5 and will only deviate from that under the most exigent circumstances.
Educated guess beta 3, Beta 4 seeds on April 18th, April 25th, RC May 2nd, release May 8th. This is mostly bug fix follow up to 16.4.
There’s a bug if you turn off public beta then on then off this shows up
