I really like Skyline and Diablo (won't happen) .
Mount Diablo State Park is a fantastic area east of San Francisco that has history, hiking, biking and views. In the park you can drive all the way to the summit of Mt Diablo which is one of the best viewpoints for distance you can see in the lower 48 United States.

As mentioned, I also believe it's coming tomorrow. This feels like a very long wait.

And yet it’s not even been two weeks. It gets harder the fewer things there are to look forward to during the beta cycle.

But 6 weeks and 45 minutes from now, it’s showtime!

I could definitely see Skyline happening.. Seems like a wholesome hippy apple-like name.
Locally Skyline drive your just can't see much except certain areas, its a nice drive, except way too many motorcyclists try to race up there during Summer. It more interesting to get off that road and explore. It's a state road that runs on Santa Crus mountains edge on mid way to Half Moon Bay to Highway 17 going to Santa Cruz. But because of the common name it could refer to another skyline in California also.

Lol. I was born in Louisville and cannot stand the stuff, although interestingly I went to school with someone from California who loved it.

Also sorry I forgot to backspace the first line of that post; not sure where that was going but it was an accident

Also not a big fan. Spaghetti and chili were never meant to coexist.

Why did I think you were from Spain? Louisville?

After all you can't make WWDC just iOS fantasies. LOL

Can’t wait for macOS Diablo! Let Blizzard chew on that one.

Tim is just teasing us before the real

Skyline Chili
Could it be?

I think it would be hilarious and they should do it just for that reason alone. But realistically I’ve always liked Shasta, surprised they haven’t used it yet. Others that would be good are Death Valley, Eureka, Santa Cruz, Tahoe, Grapevine, Montecito, Malibu, Venice, etc.

There’s a whole lot of interesting ones they could use too, California has a lot of cool city names to choose from.

Some of these would be funny, Zzyzx, Trona, Bakersfield, Compton, Ballarat, Fresno.

Apple isn't interested in funny names. If anything the name carries some specific fond memories of the lifestyle around the name. Ventura because of the local way of life, restaurants and the beach. The names are from a list they all reserved for this type of usage. Monterey, and Big Sur would immediately reflect their noted place on the coast and many memories. Lots of managers been to these places many times. Tiburon might be special this year, it's like a unique area in north SF Bay. Sonoma also. But Diablo seems more appropriate for its ability to see forever on top of the mountain.

Diablo would be pretty cool! (Said simply because I grew up in a town just to the east of it 😂)

Diablo would be kick*ss but they would have to bring some major killer features to MacOS to justify that name. Stage Manager doesn't come close to cutting it.
I don't think anything that MacOS added was killer, unless you look at it differently. Big Sur added the AS platform of Macs, Monterey added Universal Control not as its was killer feature, but of it usefulness to involve other devices. Ventura certainly can't nudge us to think that Stage Manager was anything special, that is more of a iPad finally gets barely a taste of what we take for granted with MacOS and of course its got limits. So there is nothing implied with Diablo that says its name is special in a way you are trying to prop it up. Thats why Mammoth failed last time, it didn't relate to anything compelling. If one didn't pair Diablo (game) to MacOS but instead of its history and charm people wouldn't think its at all considered in the same manner.

Quite honestly…it would also be a great one for them to go back to the actual photos for the wallpapers. (Small thing I know, but I was always a fan of the actual photo ones). Between the mountain itself, the hills (both when they’re dry in the summer and green after rains), and heck even the wind turbines off 580 would make some good scenery for wallpapers!

Mt. Diablo would make a great dynamic wallpaper. Lots of childhood memories of sitting with friends and watching the sunset behind the mountain. Would be cool to see it as a wallpaper like that!

Agreed! I don’t think Apple will ever use the name, “Diablo”. It honestly reminds me of the game. Pretty cool name tho. It will most likely be a National Park theme related name. 🏞️
Well just take note of it if it makes it. Apple isn't that much into playing games so we don't have to worry too much. They much rather sell people on needless glasses/headset that can be used for sports fans info and fitness. ;)

It would be great to see Apple bring back photographic dynamic wallpapers. So much better than the graphic ones they've been shipping lately.
But, I mostly use my own photography wallpapers but they're static. Dynamic wallpapers are more difficult to create so better if Apple supplied them.

Apple is never going to use a term that means “Devil” in a language used by many of their customers. Sorry.
The name "m. de diablo" signifying an Indian rancheria first appeared on an 1824 map created by Father Narciso Duran. The English expedition of Edward Beechey in 1826 mapped the Bay and called the mountain "Sierra Bolbones". When Salvio Pacheco petitioned for and received his Concord area grant in 1834, he named his rancho Monte del Diablo. Has nothing to do with what you are thinking. Even the people that live close to it don't associate anything like that way of thinking.
