The final 3 weeks before WWDC is a marketing dead zone. You don’t want it Mid May release because then you are out of time for production announcements. Yes it becomes the worst time to market just before WWDC, and distracts from WWDC. It’s why it’s got to be wrapped up by then. If next week is RC which seems so given MacOS stability/optimization then it ends Monday after next.
I'm basing it on the fact that the Pride watch band and watch face have shown up, and they are usually released around this week in May along with the accompanying software updates.

Interesting article

iPhone 14 plus only selling at 10% of sales, but far more then minis did.

Unfortunately, iPhone Plus models are here to stay. If Apple tends to high-end iPhone Ultra. I wonder how well it will perform.

To be honest I never associated anything that was a monthly or weekly theme with different times of the year except for going back to school marketing when it comes to hardware announcements/product updates versus their software seeding cycles. Apple nicely tries to celebrate the whole year with many different themes. :)

Who wants to create a MR dev account? Since Apple allows you to log in with a separate ID now we can create an ID and split the cost... Then everyone would just log in with that ID in beta page.
Funny enough I think of this as MacOS vs everything else. The everything else I can wait a day or two.

It's not like anything earth shattering happened with iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, WatchOS, HomePod OEM, AudioOS, and anything else missed mentioning. Let's see stage manger, apple classical, various Apple Card usage. :p

Wait what? How does that even work? I got lost over here...

when you go to settings > general > software update > Beta updates on your phone Apple allows you to log in a second Apple ID to use for beta updates... so as a group we can create one Apple ID with a developer account that everyone can log in to on that screen. I think you can use the ID on up to 100 devices.

Makes sense! Sorry, I got confused. This is actually a very great idea and a win/win for everyone. Especially with everything being so expensive. If possible... I'm down. You take the lead tho.

If there's enough interest I'll do it.. Probably closer to iOS 17 release. Anyone interested just DM me and I'll start making a list.

What’s to stop people sharing that ID and PW with friends and friends and friends?

If it’s normally Businesses setting up these accounts, staff would get their knuckles wrapped for that, but people you don’t know on here, don’t care. It would be “cool” to pass on a free dev account to one of their buddies.

• Not saying it’s a bad idea, just looking at some potential pit falls. • Also collecting payments internationally could be a headache.

Thats a good point

Does anyone know if alternatively we can add people's apple ID emails to a dev account? I know in the past you would add the device UDID, but perhaps now you can just add the apple ID and activate them that way.

Is this what you are talking about? If true I wonder when will Apple release the new bands.

Looks like sprinkles. Funky looking!

For sure, the MR article likening them to Dynamic Islands rather than the seemingly more obvious sprinkles made me chuckle, but I guess with Apple you can never quite know? They do love their multi-functionality! ❤️:apple:

Can’t even find the iOS 17 spec thread - it’s not pinned like before.

So…

I’m really struggling with the customisation choices or lack of in the right direction on the lock screen. I think we all on here want the options to control what apps are on the lock screen quick buttons, if have any appear at all.

Who cares about the size of fonts, give us the functions that we’ve wanted for years .

P.s Obvs a toggle for pro users to NOT have the home bar visible as well.

I care about the size of the fonts! My aging eyes can’t take those teeny tiny fonts on there now. There’s plenty of room and Apple does not save on ink with smaller fonts.

Waiting for the iOS/iPadOS 17 subforum as well. Yes, I too want the option to disable the home bar, but knowing Apple I don’t think they will provide it, as the home bar is part of the design just like it was the notch and make the iPhone distinguishable… well, at least before most Android started to copy it.

But, I wouldn’t expect the removal of the home bar even as an accessibility setting tbh.

You’re going to have to wait until about 2:50pm on June 5th for the iOS 17 forum.

In the meantime, let’s track down that iOS 17 spec thread and get the mods to pin it. Then they move it to the iOS 17 forum when it’s created.

That’s how this very thread got its start in life in March 2022.

Apple almost certainly is able to correlate sign-ins with IP and MAC addresses. They’d shut down a shared login so fast it’d be snappier than Safari on steroids!

They will not receive access to other membership resources or benefits.

😆😂

I don’t know, my safari feel pretty snappy on beta 3 😆😂

(In reality, it actually feels slower. Some geek bench results for this build also indicate the same) 🤞🏼 for the RC getting back on steroids.
