I wonder with all the changes whether Apple might offer PB tester seeds earlier from WWDC 2023 compared to the past few years. Seems like obsoleting profiles and going Apple IDs can afford them much more control then just anyone could skirt their warnings about earliest betas. Guess we shall see.

this is strange to get another RC and still expect the public to be released this week

Why do you always think things like this are strange? It happens almost every time they release a second Release Candidate. They found a troubling bug, they fixed it (enough to their satisfaction to release it) and now they’ll wait a day or 2 to make sure it works in the wild.

I am almost 100% certain we’ll see the public release no later than Wednesday and in all likelihood tomorrow. Which is when it might have been scheduled for release anyhow. For all we know, they had the extra time, saw something they weren’t thrilled about and released the second release candidate to nail it down because they had the time to do so.

Interesting... I hadn't considered this, but you might be on to something. What is the current lag time now for new releases? A month I think?....Perhaps they cut it down to a week or two, or maybe they go all the way and make it next day like .x releases..... I really hope you're on to something here.

Considering the 2nd Release Candidate coming out for iOS & iPadOS, there's definitely something going on we're just all not privy to. I mean, for ME, I'm having some odd issues with macOS, but my iPhone & iPad are running just fine. Hard to say, but could still be today, tomorrow, or Thursday.. If it's this week, though, I'm saying today.

I think it will be this week as the news article for the pride bands and watch face still says available this week and requires 16.5.

Since the RC2 update was apparently only one build up from RC1, my thinking is we will likely see it today.

So much for my oracle of speculation :)

Yeah, as @Realityck pointed out earlier, the one build up build number was probably just to shore everything up for release.

Now this makes me believe iOS 16.5 is coming today indeed! 👇

I thought the 16.5 RC2 of iOS/iPadOS was just an example of incorporating last minute security changes into the seed so that we don’t have to wait for fixes to be part of 16.6 Beta 1. This way we aren’t deploying platforms that all aren’t up to date before what’s next this week.

Note multiple outages that are now resolved but System Status shows all green at this time. Weather was also slow on acquiring locations earlier that doesn't show any issues? Still hope they do it today so the 16.6 beta kicks off some time after today.
