Definitely YYYYMMDD style numerical formats ie 20220705 or 2022-07-05 for today

Logical, used in Canada, China and other places. Numerically sortable. And makes those of us in uk and us stop to think. And doesn’t rely on English language

For the record, in response to a similar statement in the iOS 15 Speculation thread last year:

iOS 13 DB3 -> July 2nd and July 8th (re-release)
iOS 12 DB3 -> July 3rd

iOS 9 DB3 -> July 8th
iOS 8 DB3 -> July 7th
iOS 7 DB3 -> July 8th
And the list goes on, although pre-7 the releases are pretty stretchy at times.

So, yeah, not often but it can happen. But I don’t expect it to today.

I intentionally made no reference to last year when it actually did drop during the week following July 4th.

Just makes sense to have the day, month you're in, then the year.

Never understood going the month, the day, the year... seems like a backwards start.

UK is EU stile but I do prefer 2022-07-05 if not then 07/05/2022 (as I’m working as developer)

I wonder if holding a beta release by 1 or 2 days makes any real difference? I mean, do Apple still tweak DB3 right now, or have they already moved on to DB4 and possibly beyond? If it is the latter, they might as well release it today, followed by a PB tomorrow?

This jives with my thinking. It gets said a lot but bears repeating: Apple has a schedule set for each release. Bugs in a previous beta don’t make a lick of difference unless it’s a showstopper.

That said I call today, T-minus 7 minutes.

They‘re already putting finishing touches on DB4. DB3 was probably finalized 1-2 weeks ago.
