We’re spoiled this year because beta 3 has been pretty damn stable overall. Battery life is not great compared to 15.6 but that’s to be expected for a beta. Apple only has about a month to get the final version down so hopefully fine tuning things like battery life happens soon. I also think tomorrow is more likely compared to Thursday but who knows.

I also think it’s too early for Apple to release public on the same day as developer, but it usually trails only by 1-2 days at this point in the cycle. This means developer has to come out by tomorrow in order for public to come out by Friday, unless they wait until next week.
Public beta will have to come out this week to maintain two week cycle. Else next next beta will be after 1 week.

And IMHO we have to expect a delay - the have to finish the lock screen widgets for iPadOS.
When they will announce lock screen widgets for iPadOS 17 next year, Tim Apple will announce it with such a fake hype that most... if not all macrumors would be simping at that old feature. iJustine would be clapping with her legs because clapping with her hands won't be enough.

Back to topic.. Today is the day for Beta 4 and hopefully we will be on weekly beta train from next week.

I’m not going to get as excited about it as I was yesterday, just at 10:10am (6:10pm LDN) I’ll give my phone a casual pull down on the software update page… “ha, Manyana”

Right. And it unlikely will come out same day as dev, and betas usually don’t come out on Fridays, which is why dev today and public tomorrow (or Friday at latest). Or something is wrong.

Then look into the WidgetKit developer beta documentation:

No word about iPadOS

Starting with iOS 16 and watchOS 9, WidgetKit allows you to extend the reach of your app to the Lock Screen on iPhone and to the watch face as complications on Apple Watch.

But the accessory**** families are available in iPadOS.
