Since iOS and iPadOS now have different feature sets (e.g., the iPad is only now getting the configurable Lock Screen), does anybody know whether iPad will also be getting this new autocorrect?
Bullsiyt….
Apple today previewed iOS 17 for the iPhone, and one of the key new features coming with the update is improved autocorrect functionality.

Apple says iOS 17 includes a state-of-the-art language model for word prediction that will greatly improve autocorrection on the iPhone. Any time you type, on-device machine learning will intelligently correct mistakes with greater accuracy than ever before. In addition, you will now receive predictive text recommendations inline as you type, allowing for words or complete sentences to be added by tapping the space bar.
Autocorrection has an updated design on iOS 17 that briefly underlines an autocorrected word. Tapping on an underlined word reveals the original word that you typed, making it easy to quickly revert the change. The system will also learn your typing habits over time and avoid some corrections, which Apple's software engineering chief Craig Federighi said is designed for "those moments where you just want to type a ducking word."
iOS 17 is available in beta starting today for members of Apple's Developer Program, and will be publicly released later this year. Autocorrection can be enabled or disabled in the Settings app under General → Keyboard → Auto-Correction.

It’s why I turned off all of the autocorrect features. It got so annoying I just completely banished it.High hopes here. Even better if it stops "correcting" intended words to unintended words.
Yes.Since iOS and iPadOS now have different feature sets (e.g., the iPad is only now getting the configurable Lock Screen), does anybody know whether iPad will also be getting this new autocorrect?
Thank you. This is very good news!Yes.

It wasn't a boomer. That would be "chill out" or "cool it".i don't want "chillax" . "chill" works just fine
which boomer came up with that?
I use Swedish, German and English daily and find the globe convenient to switch between them. What I would like to see is a way to disable spell checking per language. English works so much better but Swedish (d)ucks, German so-so (I’m not near native speaking so I appreciate the help there).I'd love to get excited about this, but the native iOS keyboard doesn't support Swedish and English on one layout so I can't use that keyboard anyway.
They used ML instead which I understand is what drives most AIs anyway. Good on Apple, but I think there are covering the fact they are behind here.I dont think Apple said generative AI once…that gives me a sad.
Yep, generally those over a half a century old and above do .“Chillax”
People still talk like this?
According to Apple autocorrection supports Danish, predictive typing does not not. Also in danish?
Believe it or not — We have never had auto correction nor auto complete from Apple's keyboard.
Have to rely on Google's GBoard for that. They've offered it for years and years.
Come on Apple.

Could anyone look more into any upgrade in other languages support. Prediction, translation or whatever? It better work with multiple languages at once, because I hate switching between languages on the current official Apple one.
