I'd love to see Apple create a food/nutrition/calorie tracker app, perhaps within Health. The popular ones all suck, and Apple could do a much better one, if they become so inclined.

Agreed. My medical condition requires me to track protein and phenylalanine intake. I don’t expect anyone to list phenylalanine but protein is a good proxy for people with my condition. As you say, most of the apps out there suck at finding and determining the nutritional value of foods (you have to determine the ingredients yourself, which is a guessing game since you go through huge databases of ingredients and figure out which one is in what you’re eating). If Apple can make it as simple as snapping a pic and it tells you calories, protein content, etc., that’s a huge win!

I'm really happy that they finally added transcription to audio messages. This is an absolute no-brainer, still, afaik, nobody does it yet. Makes audio messages so much more useful.

Listening through a whole message again because the speaker didn't find it worthwhile to write down important information for others was just gruesome.

Yes, but will iPadOS 17 finally get rid of this idiotic monstrosity…?

Yes but can you set an alarm for next Tuesday at 5 PM, my android coworkers can do that. o_O

Sad when multiple timers is the standout feature, when you haven’t always just been able to say, hey siri set an alarm for 20mins?
Most lacklustre iOS update in years.

Useful updates could have included needed redesign of the terrible Lock Screen. Allow you to turn off the camera activation, and tweaked how wallpapers are changed, for example.

Fix to the weather app that does not realise it isn’t raining.

Tweaks to the keyboard design and pointless negative space at the bottom. Bad placement of period in internet keyboard etc…

Geeze allowing you to turn on your phone quickly when it is dead but plugged in to charge is badly needed. Like an emergency call feature.

But….. we got multiple timers.

Have you tried Lose It? I think it's pretty great.
Yes. Its constant nags to upgrade, first to the pay version, then to a more expensive pay version, etc., etc., eventually drove me away. MyFitnessPal is less annoying in that way, imho, but has its own flaws. These are the most popular apps in this category, and they are both buggy and slow. The best food/calorie tracking app has not yet been created.

I downloaded all the most popular ones as well. Played around with them all for a couple of hours and then I paid for Loose It Premium and never got any more nags. I'm super happy with it but definitely wouldn't mind if Apple included this in the Health app. One thing I miss with Loose It is vitamin and micro nutrient tracking. I think that would be great and shouldn't be too hard to implement.

How about the little talked about “Find-My” item sharing?

The fact that I’m no longer going to get bugged for taking my wife’s car keys for a road trip!
Yeah I’m holding off buying AirTags because of this. It might be time to get them finally.
