I'm looking forward to reciting the random text as poorly as possible or even completely wrong just to see what comes out! Garbage in, amazing out? Could be fun, like flummoxing Panorama mode with radial motions while panning...

I'm not sure how y'all are suggesting that scammers can make it sound like a family member? It's not like the scammer can sample enough audio sources of someone in your family speaking, painstakingly edit it all together to reflect the on-screen prompts so that the Machine Learning can generate a mimic, and then type out responses to the person they're scamming so that the phone reads it aloud. If you think that's possible, someone do a proof of concept, post your results here. I'll be waiting.
What if your phone is stolen, how would your family know its not you? Which voice is real?

First, you'd have to have set up the feature. Second, all security measures would have to fail or be bypassed. Third, the thief would need to know your speaking cadence, intonation, phraseology, etc. Fourth, the family member would recognize that after every question or response, there would be a delay as the thief typed a response. Again, it would be extraordinarily difficult to pull off a scam using this feature. By then, you'd have time to remote logout the device, wipe it, and activate any other Find My feature to protect your account and Apple ID.

That's interesting but maybe a little creepy I think. But somehow I'm quite looking forward to this haha.

And our family has a code word that would be slipped into any conversation that was threatening. Not a common word, but a memorable one. I don’t know much else that you can do as these voice technologies get better and better.
