Thanks, good to know. Assuming you are speaking from direct experience, I am guessing MR had the article out before anyone got a crack at the beta.

Like many others, I really just want a stationary Apple hub with a real screen, and it absolutely does not need to be the latest and greatest phone. As long as they support iOS 17 and up, hand-me-down phones might be great for this.
Yeah using an XR. Its kind of iffy now but it seems to wake up if wave or get close to it. So far seems have to be very close but a few times walking past seemed to have triggered it. (Only using for 1 evening so............)

Man, this thing is full brightness in this mode, which is a bit odd. People say that there's a pixel shift, but it better be good as this this is running full blast. Looks great though. If it doesn't burn-in, it's a nice update.

If it doesn't burn-in.

I imagine you can adjust this, but that it will even do this is surprising. It seems default.

It does not require a touch of the screen. Just a wave of hand will activate it. And as long as its charging (wired or wireless) and horizontal it works. Even on older models.
I belive that the hand wave may only work on the "Pro" iPhones. My iPhone 14 defiantly needs a touch
