iOS 18.0.1 Coming Soon: What to Expect for Your iPhone

There not everywhere may be an issue, I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max with no touchscreen issues. Possibly it's a defect from a certain batch or location but it's not every phone by any means.
Consider yourself lucky then... And others have reported, it's not just on the 16's, so batches should not make a difference.

Is anyone seeing issues with AirPlay being unable to connect to speakers? I hit it semi-regularly on my new iPhone 16 Pro. Not clear if it is specific to the new phone, a regression in iOS 18, etc. It is really annoying me!
No issues here streaming music over Airplay from my iPhone 16 to Homepods (both first and second generation).

Hoping they address the issue where Home & Lock Screen burn through 15-20% of my battery overnight while the phone is idle, in battery saver mode, airplane mode and AOD is off. I believe it's also part of the reason my phone runs so hot and battery life is so diminished while I am using it too.

On the 14 Pro Max they need to:
1. fix the battery drainage.
2. bring back the haptic feedback on the keyboard. It's almost gone.

Also make it possible to dismiss notifications as the banners pop up, for example from the calendar app, when you're in other apps like Safari without having to go to the lock screen...for crying out loud!

The only thing I’ve experienced on my iPhone 16 Pro Max are the touches not registering on the screen.

I would think at some point Apple would address the iPhone 16 claims of having WiFi7, yet performs like the iPhone 15 Pro WiFi6E. I put my WiFi7 HP laptop up against my 16 Pro Max Connected to an eero Max 7 mesh with 2Gbps Xfinity service. one simple question, does the 16‘s WiFi7 support the 320mhz channel width?
lol yah hardly anything is different between a windows pc and a phone, much less the unknown method of your test..

why arent the results the same?!?!?

oh also, mercury just went retrograde... sooo..

Hopefully M4 iPad Pros will not have any further issues.
yah that's pretty sad that they were bricking the flagship device with an update that ISNT a macos sequoia image. at least then the pain would be worth it...

very very late... and not yet released (3 Oct 9.09am in Italy). This year a lot of bugs to be fixed ... :-(

Apple doesn’t know it’s head from a hole in the ground at this point! iPhone 16 sales are very underwhelming, iOS 18 like Android 1.0 with bug galore, working on worthless projects like Apple smart display and let’s not forget Apple - which brings in negative ROI.

Look, the iffy economy is partly to blame for slower iPhone 16 sales.

But getting back on topic, I do hope that iOS 18.0.1 does come out today. 🤞

hope it fixes more than just what has been mentioned.
i have a 16 pro (set up as a new device - not restored from previous iphone) and it has numerous issues.

- camera keeps crashing, only a reboot fixes it until it happens again
- iphone get very laggy, again only a reboot fixes
- one morning i woke up (the phone being on charge using supplied cable and apple charger) and the phone was red hot and borderline non responsive - had to reboot
- randomly alarms don't work - have a daily alarm at 7am, i woke up the morning at 7:30 with the screen showing the alarm had activated (waiting for me to silence it), yet the iphone was making no sound, another morning it didn't activate at all.
- the "find my" widget doesn't display properly - just a white square.

i'm sure i could come up with some other issues if i wait long enough.
The alarms not working after a bugged update almost cost me my job back in 2015 on my iPhone 5s. Ever since then I refuse to update my apple devices unless I critically need the new features. Because the consequences of things not working correctly can be big.

I wonder if its messing up the email app because my friend has said shes been emailing me and I havent gotten anything from her.....I wonder if the email app itself is messed up (if theres a bug in it) in ios 18.0. She has an ipad but I dont know what kind so maybe hers is just too old to get ios 18.
I was having the same issue with my work email account which is an Exchange account. I wasn't having any issues with iOS18 on my 13 Pro Max, but when I purchased a 16 Pro I couldn't get my mail, calendar, or reminders to sync consistently. I've done some digging it sounds like this is an issue with Exchange accounts for some users. I ended up returning my 16 Pro and went back to my 13 Pro Max until this is resolved, because I rely heavily on having my reminders and calendar on my phone so I couldn't have it not working. Hoping to see some update that addresses this issue soon.

With iOS 18 I cannot hotspot my MacBook and Airdrop at the same time. This was not the case in previous versions. I have to disconnect from hotspot first in order to AirDrop. Also, hotspot in general is wonky and difficult to connect to. This is a bug also reported on Reddit, although some people tried to say this is how it's supposed to work.

I've actually finally disabled RCS as it fails to send after working for the first couple days or so... Note this is the same recipient who hasn't made any changes to his phone.

i didn't "update" though, this is a new 16 pro so came iOS 18 pre-installed.
the alarm failed to activate again this morning - this time no sign of it doing anything at all.

woke up to find 18.0.01 available to lets see if that fixes the problems.

the "find my" widget is still broken after the 18.0.01 update

That stinks. Sorry that must be pretty frustrating.

Update - 18.0.1 has not fixed these issues
Just had the exact same camera crash issue the can only be fixed by a reboot

Phone also became very laggy, only fixed by a reboot.

These issues feel like a memory leak

Has anyone been having their phones screens go black and then it restarts on there own ? I've experceinced that 2 times on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Daily. Multiple times. Except it’s on my 13PM. Immediately started safety doing the 18.0 update. And 18.0.1 did not fix it.

It’s not just 16 PM (or any 16 for that matter). My 13 PM started immediately after doing iOS 18 update and continues with 18.0.1 update. I don’t usually do the big updates right away but for some stupid reason I did this one and I totally regret it.
